Name: Mary Roberts
Age: 56
Title: 2020 President of Arizona REALTORS®
Single/Married: single
Kids: boy, girl, boy plus two beautiful granddaughters
City: Lake Havasu City, AZ
A typical day in my life includes…
waking up and saying positive affirmations followed by taking my two little furbabies (Daisy a Yorkie and Nikki a Shih Tzu). Then off to the office to do what it takes to be a REALTOR®! After work, a few neighbors and I enjoy socializing in the pool.
I was born…
the youngest of six kids in Madison, WI – I am the Cindy Brady of the family! My parents up and moved me from a thriving city with lots to do to a small ‘city’ (Lake Havasu) in Arizona in 1972! We didn’t even have a stoplight or a McDonalds back then.
My favorite thing about Arizona…
the diversity of the state. In running for office for the AZ REALTORS®, I traveled all over the state and was amazed by all the different terrains and climates. In just a few days you can experience many different things and climates.
I’m listening to…
I just said, “Alexa, play 80’s R&B.” I like a lot of different music… except for country.
My family…
includes my oldest son who has blessed me with a fun and adorable 6-year-old granddaughter, Rhiannon, and a daughter who moved to be closer so I could enjoy my wickedly smart and sassy 3-year-old granddaughter, Elia. My youngest, Gunner (23), has been in real estate with me for over 5 years.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…
my father. He was my first broker when I started in real estate in 1989. I would love to share with him where I have gone and what I have accomplished.
One thing I cannot live without is…
laughter. Being too serious all the time takes the fun out of life.
When I was younger I wanted to be…
an inventor. I dreamed about self-driving cars and GPS before they were even a thing!
I’m inspired by…
my daughter. She has gone through so much, including beating breast cancer! She is an amazing mother and wife and gives so much.
If I could change anything in the world, it would be…
people would be happy with who they were and would love themselves as they are. Too many people are always waiting to be happy when…
The perfect day would be…
having fun with my granddaughters and watching them laugh.
My first job was…
my dad opened a sports shop when we moved to Havasu. I used to love helping customers with the fishing bait, nightcrawlers and waterdogs.
My favorite escape…
camping in remote areas and just enjoying nature. Beaches, mountains, desert (for riding). I’ll take it all!
I’m currently working on…
being intentional! Give compliments, encourage others, be the positive in someone’s life.
Always…
be positive! No one wants to be around negative people.
Never…
say never!
Favorite Quote…
“Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.” – Henry Ford
Biggest Dream…
take a trip to Europe with my kids and granddaughters.
My Pet Peeve…
everyone who knows me knows gum-chewing drives me crazy!
