Married/Single: Married to my wife Julie since November of last year. We had a beautiful ceremony at Mountain Shadows here in the Valley.

Kids: No kids, just our ginger cat Reuben

City you live in: Phoenix, Dreamy Draw area

A typical day in my life includes… I’m at our office in Midtown Phoenix by 9:30 a.m., and I spend most of my time working with our management team, planning and coordinating our events. Most of our time is spent on special events; however, there are plenty of club shows and tours to discuss (as many as a dozen a weekend). In between discussions, meetings, phone calls, and (now) Zoom meetings, I have my own set of emails and work to knock out. I’m typically out of the office between 6 and 7pm when I head home and have dinner with Julie. We try to be off our phones while we catch up on the day with each other. Thankfully, she coordinates our personal and social lives, so she keeps me plenty busy in the evenings.

I was born… in Montebello, CA. Funny story about that, actually. I haven’t personally verified this, but I’ve heard my mom tell this story repeatedly. I was an emergency cesarean, and the attending doctor was concerned about time in getting to the operating room as the umbilical cord was around my neck. A new maternity center was scheduled to open later that was closer to where the attending decided to do the delivery, so I turned out to be the—unintended—first delivery in the new maternity center.

My favorite thing about Arizona… The weather. Most of the year, it’s clear and sunny. Even when it’s hot, there are plenty of water activities to keep cool. Sedona and Flagstaff are also close escapes during the summer.

I’m listening to… This is hard to pick. Boris Brejcha when I’m working through email. Women of Pop when I’m doing chores around the house (who doesn’t like a strong female vocal?). I put on plenty of ’80s hits and Abba at home too.

My family… Is tight-knit. We spend time most weeks with our parents, and we try to keep up with our siblings and Julie’s seven (!) aunts and uncles.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… This is a tough one. Historically? Edison, Jobs, Hemingway, Jefferson, (Benjamin) Franklin, Churchill. Present day? Obama, Colbert, Tina Fey, Lorne Michaels, Elon, Mark Cuban. I love a good dinner and conversation.

One thing I cannot live without… AirPods. I’m constantly on the phone, and I love not fiddling around with my phone or wired headphones.

When I was younger, I wanted to be… Astronaut, inventor, and graphic designer (in order).

I’m inspired by… Our fans. The people who attend our events with frequency are so diverse and have such varied musical tastes. Also, my parents- they always worked hard to put my siblings and me on a good path.

The one person who motivates me is… Myself, my wife, Thomas, our fans. I always want to do better.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be… Social media. I don’t think we’re using it right. Too many people are getting stuck in echo chambers, and it’s becoming more and more divisive.

The perfect day would be… Relaxing at the beach. Even if I have to answer some emails, nothing beats being near the ocean.

My first job was… As a cashier in a pharmacy.

My favorite escape… Escape rooms! Julie and I do rooms every week with friends. We’ve done over 60 with another couple in less than two years. We’re heading to Vegas this weekend to do about seven in two days.

My life… Is an adventure. I’m always looking forward to the next trip, the next big show.

I’m currently working on… Our fall festival schedule. I’m also planning our summer vacation and Julie’s birthday.

Always… Be moving, traveling, seeing and experiencing new things. There’s so much to see and do in our lifetimes.

Never… Give up.

Favorite Quote… “Nothing that’s worth having comes easy.”

Biggest Dream… I want to travel to as many countries and cities as possible. Every corner of the world has something different to offer.

My Pet Peeve(s)… People who text “hi” or “hey” and then nothing else. People who tailgate on the freeway (you’re just asking for an accident!).
