AZF: What is your “life motto”?
JA & LS: Just be you…there is no one else better to be!
AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?
JA & LS: We did not! We both thought that we were committed to our lives in Corporate America. However, we both found ourselves hoping and wanting for more. There were elements of our careers that we loved, but over time, elements that certainly drained us! In 2020, we both had moments of re-evaluation that showed us a different future. We left Corporate America in 2021 with the goal of influencing more women to consider their holistic image – how to elevate their skills, communication and ultimately their style to showcase an elevated image of themselves!
AZF: How do you feel best supported?
JA & LS: We feel best supported when we get alone time to think! We have learned that when you’re an entrepreneur, the things “to do” are never-ending. Layer on top of that, being moms and wives, the demand can be high. We both appreciate time alone to recharge and think. It keeps us grounded and focused on the right things!
AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst of the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
JA & LS: We are truly motivated by doing great, transformative work with our clients. At times, clients come to us looking for a great outfit. We can certainly do that. However, our clients quickly realize that it’s more than “just clothes”. It’s truly a transformative experience and we feel so honored to be a part of it. It makes any challenge we come across worth it.
AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
JA & LS: Likely spoken as a true stylist… shopping online! We love leisurely mornings, with coffee and an iPad for shopping. Top off the rest of the day with a walk outside and quality time with our families and a carb-loaded dinner… Happiness in a Saturday right there!
AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
JA & LS: We hear this often in the world of entrepreneurship, but it is so true and profound: just take action. Forgetting perfection and just taking steps forward is the most important thing.
