Elisabeth Samuels is the web designer for Salterra Digital Marketing. AZF had a chance to chat with Samuels about herself and her business.
AZF: What is your “life motto”?
ES: “The mighty oak is merely an acorn that held it’s ground.”
AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path for you?
ES: “My husband was very convincing early on in our relationship and we have been self-employed for over 20 years in 3 separate businesses.”
AZF: How do you feel best supported?
ES: “I have a business coach that I can run ideas through and I try to utilize critical thinking to verbalize things and ideas, that nurtures a supportive environment for me.”
AZF: What motivates you to keep going admist the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
ES: “My husband is my business partner, and we have invested a lot of time and energy into what we are building, we evaluate and reconnect to stay in alignment. That keeps us motivated. I encourage having a friend who has an understanding of being an entrepreneur is going to be essential.”
AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
ES: “I love getting up early and sitting quietly on the back patio with my husband and dogs.”
AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
ES: “I emphatically encourage a new entrepreneur to establish a strong support network. Your net worth is directly related to your network. Plus the quality of the people you surround yourself with will carry you through so many scenarios (abundant and challenging).”
AZF: What makes you most excited about being an entrepreneur?
ES: “It sounds so cliche, but I really do love helping people; the creativity to design and market a business is something I enjoy. I love the flexibility that being an entrepreneur has given me when our kids were younger so that we could be home while they were growing up, now that they’re older, I still have the flexibility to manage my time how best suits my family.”
