AZF: What is your “life motto?”
DRS: “Empower, Inspire, Achieve.” I believe in lifting others and inspiring them to reach their full potential. Through my business, coaching, or personal interactions, I aim to empower those around me to dream big and achieve their goals. This motto guides everything I do, from helping female entrepreneurs grow businesses to finding balance as a mom and exploring the world. It’s all about making a positive impact, taking action even when it’s scary, and creating a ripple effect of success and empowerment.

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?
DRS: I never envisioned myself as an entrepreneur. My journey began in the corporate world as a Marketing Director at a multinational organization, where I gained invaluable experience. However, I discovered my passion for coaching through side hustles, teaching underprivileged women how to sell their homemade products. This hands-on experience and my doctoral research in Marketing revealed the immense potential for innovative strategies to empower others. In 2012, I took a leap of faith and founded Creative Minds Worldwide, becoming the first entrepreneur in my family. This decision was incredibly bold given societal expectations for me to become a university professor and researcher, a role I still fulfill part-time. Entrepreneurship has allowed me to create a dynamic hub for innovation and empowerment, perfectly balancing my professional goals with my personal life as a global citizen.

AZF: How do you feel best supported?
DRS: The most vital support in my professional growth comes from being part of a community of like-minded individuals passionate about innovation and empowerment. This community, comprised of mentors, colleagues, and fellow entrepreneurs, is where I exchange ideas and receive valuable feedback. It’s where I find inspiration and motivation. Continuous learning, through workshops, conferences, and exploring new concepts, is also important, but it’s the community that truly fuels my growth.

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?DRS: Seeing the tangible impact of my work on others’ lives and businesses is what keeps me going. Knowing that my efforts help others achieve their dreams and reach new heights is incredibly motivating. Every success story, big or small, fuels my passion and drive to continue pushing forward. Also, the constant opportunity for growth and learning keeps me energized. Each challenge is a chance to innovate and find creative solutions, making the journey exciting and rewarding. The entrepreneurial path is not always easy, but the sense of purpose and the satisfaction of making a difference make it all worthwhile.

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
DRS: Saturdays are for brunch! My perfect morning starts with a relaxed brunch with the kids at our favorite spots in Scottsdale. If we’re traveling, you’d find me sipping matcha by the sea, soaking in the peaceful vibes. These unhurried moments, whether at home or away, are what I cherish most.

AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
DRS: Build a community from day one. Focus on growing your mailing list and consistently add value to your audience. Your community will be your biggest supporters and advocates, so nurture those relationships. Provide valuable content, listen to their needs, and engage with them regularly. A strong, loyal community can make all the difference in your entrepreneurial journey.

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?
DRS: The limitless potential for creativity and impact! Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to innovate, which keeps me passionate and driven. I love turning visionary ideas into realities that positively affect people’s lives and businesses. Plus, being an entrepreneur allows me the freedom to balance my roles as a working mom, which is incredibly fulfilling. Watching my clients grow, overcome challenges, and achieve their dreams is incredibly fulfilling. My connections with diverse individuals and thought leaders add a sense of community and collective growth, making this journey even more inspiring.
