Meet Serena Wedlich, the first vice president of CBRE, Inc., a global leader in commercial real estate services and investments. 

Serena, who has been with the company for more than a decade, specializes in industrial real estate, including warehouses, manufacturing facilities and distribution centers. By guiding clients through the entire process, she helps buyers find the ideal space to support their growing business. 

“I help clients find the right space to fit their operational needs, whether they’re looking to lease, buy or sell industrial properties.”

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?

SW: Yes, I was selling candy on the playground at eight years old!

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?

SW: The hard work will pay off one way or another. There is always something to learn in every situation. 

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.

SW: Start the morning with a run with friends in cool weather followed by a good breakfast and coffee and then have a relaxing afternoon with my husband and four daughters. 

AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?

SW: Stay focused, learn from failure, build a network of like-minded people to surround yourself with, and be patient and persistent. The grind will pay off!

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?

SW: The sky’s the limit. You can make decisions, set your vision, and guide your business in the direction you believe is best. You get to shape your future. The thrill of overcoming obstacles and seeing your hard work pay off can be incredibly motivating.  Every day presents new challenges and opportunities to learn.
