A typical day in my life includes… As a new entrepreneur, my days are anything but typical. Between calls with current and prospective clients, keeping up with new accounts, reading, and—yes—too much email, there’s always something to keep me busy.

I was born… just three blocks from where I live now. After traveling the world and spending many years in Scottsdale, I recently moved to Midtown, where I can see the hospital in which I was born from my home office.

My favorite thing about Arizona… as cliché as it sounds, it’s the outdoors—of course.

I’m listening to… a backlog of podcasts that’s been growing all year. Right now, Seth Godin’s Akimbo, NPR’s Planet Money, and Park Howell’s The Business of Story are in the rotation.

My family… is unconventional, but we all get along.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… Richard Branson—ideally after a round of kite surfing with him on Necker Island.

One thing I cannot live without… iced tea!

When I was younger, I wanted to be… a fire truck. Yes, the truck itself—not the firefighter! As a compromise, I’m thrilled to count the Hall of Flame Fire Museum here in Phoenix as a client.

I’m inspired by… my clients. I work with dozens of nonprofits across the country, and every mission and leader I meet drives me to do my best for them.

The people who motivate me are… (see above). Each day, I’m motivated by the nonprofit leaders I’m fortunate to work with.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be… a long list, but lately, the more I travel the world, plastic tops it. With self-driving cars and supercomputers in our pockets, surely a sustainable alternative is close.

The perfect day would be… well, we live in Arizona, so a hike followed by brunch sounds pretty ideal.

My first job was… a cart attendant at Target… in the summer. Thankfully, I was soon promoted to an indoor role.

My favorite escape… international travel. Broad, I know, but I absolutely love exploring new cultures, sights, and foods. Earlier this year, I spent six weeks in Ecuador, and I plan to spend another month abroad next summer.

My life… is coming together. After a rewarding career in corporate America and nonprofit leadership, I’m now a small business owner with the flexibility to prioritize the life I truly want.

I’m currently working on… growing EleeHub. Our goal over the next 18 months is to onboard two nonprofits per week, which will keep us busy while remaining sustainable.

Always… celebrate the small wins. I’m a big believer in marginal gains; in fact, I wrote a talk on it. Ten one-percent improvements are better than one big ten-percent gain. So celebrate the small, intentional steps forward.

Never… answer questions about never.

Favorite Quote: “This too, shall pass.” Ancient adage.

Biggest Dream: Until recently, my dream was to live a financially and location-independent life. This is now a reality, so I guess it’s time for a new dream. Check back with me in five years!

My Pet Peeve: Slow hotel check-ins. You have all my information and my credit card; shouldn’t there be a one-button process by now?
