Chris Kay is the founder of Diego Milano. His history begins as a singer/songwriter who traveled Route 66 in the 1990’s in search of a deeper meaning to life. While on the road, he met many interesting people, including the Navajo people, who he grew a relationship with by learning some of their language and finding peace in their beautiful land. Chris revisited his Route 66 home-on-the-road quite often throughout the years and it always has been a big part of him. Even saying that the “Southwest is in my DNA”. When deciding to go to college in the early 2000’s, Chris went on to study Economics and went into the Financial business; but he always knew he would keep music in his life and the arts close to his heart. While getting his business off the ground, he began to travel to New York and Milan. It was in these two cities where Chris began to fall in love with fashion and plant a seed for a possible collection of his own. Chris brings a unique background of Rock and Roll, an eye for design, and just the right amount of rebellion. He has explained himself as being “Weird but Creative”, giving Diego Milano a truly unique feel and look with a hint of risk that no one else in the denim industry is brave enough to take.
