A typical day in my life includes…
early wakeup call! My alarm rings at 4:08am, I make a latte, get dressed and head to class to teach. First class is at 5am (M-F). My schedule differs everyday, but I usually teach all my BODI classes in the morning, have personal training clients throughout the day, go home and take a solid 2-3 hour nap and catch up on work at home. Finish the day with a bomb dinner (I love cooking!) and pair it with a glass of vino.
I was born in…
Phoenix, AZ.
My favorite thing about Arizona…
you get to be active and outside all the time. You have the sunshine and warmth in Phoenix, you can drive 2 hours to Sedona/Flagstaff and be up in the pines and ski and you’re only a 5 hour drive from the beach in San Diego. Can’t get much better than that!
I am listening to…
well it depends on my mood. Fetty or Kendrick Lamar when I’m working out or if I’m relaxing, I like to put on John Mayer or anything country.
My family…
means a lot to me! My parents raised my 2 younger sisters and I. One word that describes my family: adventurous. My dad was a lucky guy to have all 4 of us ladies.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…
anyone from the Food Network Channel – huge fans of all the chefs on the show and I know they would want to eat pretty tasty food!
One thing I cannot live without…
is getting a sweat in everyday; whether if that’s in the gym or outside for a run or hike. Sweating energizes me and motivates me for the day!
When I was younger…
I wanted to be a grade school teacher so I could write on the chalkboard and call random people out to read in class.
I’m inspired by…
people who have humility. It’s hard to admit your wrong doings/things you aren’t good at. Or if you are good at something, you are humble about it and acknowledge other people’s strengths, as well as your own. Finding that balance is tricky, but influential. The one person who motivates me is my dad. He is an incredible hard worker and he never needs to “prove” that to anyone. His character shines through to almost every person that crosses his path.
If I could change anything in the world…
it would be for people to stop comparing themselves to others. I know that’s hard to do as humans, but loving yourself inside and out is huge. Way easier to do than it sounds. Recognize that people bring different strengths to the table.
The perfect day would be…
to wake up, make coffee with my husband, go on a long run with some girl friends, go to a big brunch with all my friends, take a luxurious nap at home while watching a movie and then get ready to go out to a nice dinner with family and friends.
My first job was…
working for my Dad’s company in high school filing, scanning and printing papers. Very tedious and exciting, I know.
My favorite escape is…
Flagstaff, AZ at my parent’s summer home. It’s so peaceful and I have a lot of time to think.
My life…
is busy. I know that’s an overused term, but I love to have lots going on. I work hard and rest hard, but in between it all, I try to find a balance to have fun and play.
I’m currently…
working on building my personal training business!
Always…
persevere. Life is full of ups and downs. You never know when they come or how long they will last. But “this too shall pass”. Surround yourself with people who make you want to be a better person, build you up and challenge you.
Never…
shut down or give up. Take a rest and come back to it.
Favorite Quote…
“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.” –Maya Angelou
Biggest Dream…
is to train professional athletes.
My Pet Peeve…
is when you think you are having an in-person conversation with someone but you realize they are texting someone else.
