A typical day in my life includes…
I start off every morning with a glass of fresh celery juice and then usually head to a spin class to break a sweat and start my day off right. My morning is usually filled with answering emails and going back and forth with my manager about whatever campaign I’m working on. Afternoons are usually filled with photoshoots, so my husband/business partner Robbie and I will head out to find cute spots. The rest of the day is typically filled with more emails while Robbie edits photos. We always have some sort of jazz music or classical piano playing in our home to create a good work flow. When we finally close our laptops for the day, we go out to grab dinner and then come home to cuddle up and binge watch our favorite show on Netflix!
I was born…
in my hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada! Fun fact: My dad was the one who delivered me at the hospital! The doctor told him to put on scrubs and he was the one who delivered me into this world. To this day he says it was one of the top moments of his life.
My favorite thing about Arizona…
the Sonoran Desert is gorgeous! Growing up in Las Vegas, I loved the sunshine and heat but let’s face it, Nevada’s Mojave Desert isn’t nearly as pretty as the Saguaro-filled terrain of Arizona. The red rock, the breathtaking sunsets, it’s all so beautiful here. I love living in this little slice of desert paradise!
I’m listening to…
Ariana Grande! She has such an incredible voice and love her girl power attitude.
My family…
is diehard Las Vegas! Both my parents were born and raised in Las Vegas and all my extended family lives there as well. I grew up going to UNLV Rebels basketball games with my dad and we have so much hometown pride. A lot of people think of Las Vegas as “Sin City” where the only thing to do is party on The Strip, but the city is so much bigger and more diverse than that. It was a great place to grow up.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…
Reese Witherspoon! She’s my #WomanCrush for sure. Beyond just loving her movies, I love her style and how inspiring she is as a total boss babe. She’s an incredible actor but she’s also a dynamic business woman and has built a brand all her own.
One thing I cannot live without…
red lipstick of course! Always have to stay on brand. 🙂
When I was younger, I wanted to be…
a dolphin trainer! Growing up, I had this blue three ring binder and I would print off pages and pages of dolphin facts and put them in the binder to collect and read. Needless to say, swimming with dolphins is on my to-do list!
I’m inspired by…
creative and passionate women who have built brands from nothing. I followed fashion blogs for a while before I ever started my own and it’s been amazing to see all those ladies now releasing their own clothing lines sold at Nordstrom, getting their books published, etc. I’ve been working so hard over the past five years to join these incredible women and extend my brand into products.
The one person who motivates me is…
my husband Robbie! I couldn’t do what I do without him, he’s not only my significant other, he’s my business partner, creative director, photographer, videographer, publicist, manager, and so much more. Whenever I’m feeling overwhelmed or get caught up in the social media comparison game, he’s always there to remind me what’s most important.
If I could change anything in the world, it would be…
that all women would have confidence in themselves and their body! My entire platform is dedicated to spreading body positivity and encouraging women to love the skin they’re in. As a curvy size 12, I know how hard it is sometimes to find clothes that fit and still feel fashionable. My mission is to help women see that they can be confident and stylish at any size!
The perfect day would be…
waking up to an incredible breakfast with every waffle, pastry, and fruit imaginable. I would then head to a spa to be pampered and massaged from head to toe. Afterward, I would meet up with Robbie and we’d go shopping at Chanel. We’d end the evening with a fancy steak dinner and then head home to be cuddly and watch a cheesy romantic movie!
My first job was…
working at Nordstrom! It’s been so cool to see my career in fashion come full circle, as I’ve now worked with Nordstrom on several campaigns over the last couple of years. Every time I receive a box of items from their buyers, the teenage me can’t help but squeal with excitement.
My favorite escape…
the beach! I love being in the water and relaxing on the beach. All I need is a cute swimsuit, a sunny day, a tropical drink, and I’m good to go.
My life…
is not as glamorous as it appears on Instagram. No one’s is! There is so much hard work, blood, sweat and tears that go into building a personal brand online that is also your career. Robbie and I have sacrificed so much to create what we have today and a lot of people don’t see that when all they see are the dreamy photos on tropical vacations and exciting brand partnerships. At the end of the day, we feel very blessed to be living our dreams but we also know that it doesn’t come easy. We try to keep it real and authentic with our followers so they can see that with hard work and consistency, they can reach their dreams, too!
I’m currently working on…
an exciting announcement that I can’t share just yet! Let’s just say it’s something I’ve always dreamed of doing and I can’t wait to hit this career milestone.
Always…
stay true to yourself. It can often feel like so many people are pulling you in so many directions with their expectations of you, but at the end of the day it’s all about you! Ask yourself what you truly want in life and who you want to be, and then make it happen! Don’t apologize for your personal happiness.
Never…
compare yourself to others. I have to remind myself of this a lot because it’s so easy in today’s Instagram world. One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever received is: don’t look to the side, look ahead. Focus on your goals and dreams, not what others are doing.
