If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to explore more of the great outdoors, you’re in luck.
On five select days throughout the year, all U.S. National Park Service sites will offer free admission to everyone.
From well-known wonders like the Grand Canyon and Yosemite, to smaller gems like Everglades National Park in South Florida or Utah’s Dinosaur National Monument, mark your calendar with the following dates when you’ll be able to enjoy complimentary access to any of the 423 U.S. National Parks:
- January 17: Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
- April 16: First day of National Park Week
- August 4: Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act
- September 24: National Public Lands Day
- November 11: Veterans Day
While entrance fees are waived on these days, amenity or user fees may not be covered for activities such as camping, boat launches, transportation, or special tours.
Free admission to U.S. National Parks is always available year-round to veterans, Gold Star Families and U.S. citizens and permanent residents with permanent disabilities.
