St. Regis Punta Mita Unveils Stunning $45 Million Transformation

The luxurious St. Regis Punta Mita resort sits on a 22-acre private peninsula in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico. As its 15th anniversary approaches, the resort is celebrating the milestone with a $45 million property-wide transformation to elevate the property to a new level. The scope of the property-wide renovation refreshes everything from the guest rooms, suites and villas to The St. Regis Spa, amenities and recreational spaces.

“We are honored to redefine the pinnacle of luxury in Riviera Nayarit as the St. Regis Punta Mita steps into its next chapter,” says Hugo Desenzani, area managing director of luxury at Marriott International. “With a timeless design that blends traditional elegance with modern charm, coupled with our commitment to offering distinguished service and unparalleled experiences, our comprehensive transformation will undoubtedly leave a lasting effect on luxury hospitality in Mexico.”

The resort collaborated with a Mexico-based design firm to reimagine the property from top-to-bottom. The newly renovated design pays homage to the natural surroundings and the destination’s rich cultural heritage. Many of the design details are inspired by natural textures and materials such as travertine marble, brown glass, clay ceilings, hammered brass and textured wood. Overall, the designers hope to create a Mexican-Mediterranean feel within the resort.

The resort’s accommodations are refashioned with touches from the Mexican-Mediterranean architectural style, featuring bright vibrant elements, colorful handcrafted types, arched patios and more. There are 120 guest rooms, five residential-style beachfront villas and ocean and garden view suites. Handcrafted furnishings, hacienda structures and Mexican art highlight the renovated accommodations.

The St. Regis Spa is aimed at rejuvenating the mind, body and soul. The spa’s renovations include the addition of a Teamazcal, which is an indigenous Mayan sweat lounge that is deeply rooted in traditional healing practices. The new Couples Spa Suite offers couples a private plunge pool, outdoor shower, lounge seating and side-by-side massage tables.

In an effort to expand the resort’s family offerings, St. Regis Punta Mita has created a dual-level infinity pool called Marietas pool. This pool has gorgeous unobstructed ocean views of Islas Marietas National Park. Resort guests will have access to two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses the Pacifico and Bahia.
