How to Skip the Airport Security Line for Free at Phoenix Sky Harbor

With this summer promising to be one of the busiest for air travel on record, many travelers are looking to traveler programs, such as TSA PreCheck and Clear, to speed up security checks.

While both services are noted for saving time and stress in the airport security process, few know of another option available at some U.S. airports free of charge.

Say goodbye to long lines and hello to Reserve powered by Clear, allowing travelers to reserve a TSA security line time slot in advance and jump to the front for their designated slot. Though Clear charges for their services, Reserve powered by Clear is a completely free fast pass system.

Since launching in 2021 after Clear acquired virtual queuing company Whyline, users have reported up to 30 minutes saved in security lines.

Reserve powered by Clear is currently available at the following U.S. airports:

  • Denver International Airport (DEN)
  • George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport (IAH)
  • John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York (JFK)
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
  • Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP)
  • New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
  • Orlando International Airport (MCO)
  • Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
  • Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)

Travelers looking to cut time flying out of Terminal 3 and 4 at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport can reserve a time for TSA screening through the PHX Reserve program. Reservations are available in Terminal 3 from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. and in Terminal 4 from 5:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Reservations can be made up to three days in advance at phx.clearme.com.
