Royal Palms Resort and Spa has long been one of the Valley’s favorite spots for a romantic respite–and it’s safe to say that those swoon-worthy feelings are still alive and well at the Phoenix resort, which was recently acquired by Hyatt’s Unbound Collection. (Don’t fret; Hyatt has no intention to change the charm and romance of the resort but a room refresh might be on the schedule for next summer.) Looking for a little end-of-summer stay with your love? Here are three experiences at Royal Palms that are made for romance.

  1. A couples massage at Alvadora Spa is the ultimate way to unwind with your sweetheart. Choose a hot stone or custom massage–in a gorgeous stone-walled room that looks more like a wine cellar than a treatment room–and get swept away in relaxation. Prior to and after your treatment, enjoy some time in the hot tub or steam room to cap off your pampering session.
  2. Dinner at T.Cook’s offers a prime time to reconnect with your loved one. To kick off the meal, the salad of watermelon, arugula, feta, mint and balsamic is fresh and flavorful while a bowl of summer corn chowder is like velvet. The corn is sweet and smooth while the smoked pork tasso adds a touch of spice. For the main event, the Glacier 51 seabass is flaky, buttery–it will melt in your mouth. The dish is rounded out with grilled asparagus, black forbidden rice, radish and a refreshing lemongrass vinaigrette. The perfect dessert to share? Lavender creme brulee.
  3. A walk around the property will allow the chance for you to take in the beautiful sights and sounds of Royal Palms. The lush landscaping is one of the elements that sets Royal Palms apart from other resorts. Everywhere you look is gorgeous flora and fauna, vines crawling up walls, towering palm trees. The fountains throughout the property create a beautiful babbling-water soundtrack. And there are lovely little nooks throughout the grounds to sit and savor for a while–with your special someone.Mark Boisclair Photography, Inc.
