Southern Rail is readying to open its doors in uptown Phoenix this spring. The restaurant will begin to build its skilled team of enthusiastic service industry professionals during a job fair Monday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at sister restaurant Beckett’s Table. Positions include: sous chef, line cooks, prep cooks, pastry, dishwashers, managers, servers, bartenders, bar backs, expo, food runners, hosts and hostesses. The team is open to all levels of experience; please bring resume, proof of food handlers card, two forms of picture ID and references.
A grand opening event is scheduled for Saturday, May 3 for Scottsdale’s new fast-casual Pizza Me! The fun starts at 11 a.m., and Pizza Me! has an entire day of family friendly activities planned including a bounce house, balloon-twisting and music. Additionally, 10 lucky guests will win a pizza a week for a year.
In honor of National Burger Month (May), Del Frisco’s Grille in Phoenix will be offering a bold new burger topped with exotic ingredients and a spicy Arizona kick. The new Phoenix Burger ($16) is topped with candied pepper wild boar bacon, fried pickled nopales (an edible cactus) and jalapeno-peach mayo made with our state’s own, Chato Loco jelly. The Phoenix Burger will be available at the Biltmore-area restaurant through the end of May.
