On Thursday, June 19 District American Kitchen and Wine Bar at Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel will host The Refreshing Hour, a happy hour to raise funds for Phoenix Children’s Hospital, in conjunction with Refresh Glass. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., guests will receive a signature item from Refresh Glass, along with one complimentary signature drink, for $15. The night will also include a raffle offering a line of products from Refresh Glass and local businesses. Guests must RSVP at www.pchrefreshinghour.com.
Roy’s Restaurant announced the exciting launch of Eat Creative, a national brand refresh featuring a new culinary focus on Pacific Rim cuisine and the introduction of local chef-driven menus at all locations, including the Valley’s Desert Ridge and Chandler. Eat Creative combines global and local inspiration with French cooking techniques and flavors from around the Pacific Rim, including Japan, Hawaii and Thailand. New menu additions include Roy’s Signature Lobster Pie, Tempura California white sea bass and Alaea salt-crusted bone in ribeye.
Now through the end of August, enjoy a trio of $8 Summer Lunch Specials at Texaz Grill, including a hearty spinach salad or a crisp summer wrap. Pair these summer specials with a trio of refreshing $7.50 Summer Drink Specials including the Lynchburg Lemonade with Jack Daniels, lemonade, triple sec, a splash of Sierra Mist and a slice of lemon. Texaz Grill’s summer lunch specials are available Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., while Summer Drink Specials are available daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
On Wednesday, June 18, Phoenix Public Market Cafe is celebrating its first birthday! From 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., expect a great celebration filled with live music, a corn hole competition where guests can challenge each other in a friendly game as they enjoy local brews from the Four Peaks beer garden. Guests can also cheers to the one-year with happy hour specials like $5 glasses of wine, draft beer pitchers, and cocktails, as well as food specials.
The popular summer series Grown-Ups Table returned to Beckett’s Table this week. Every Wednesday through August (excluding July 2 and 9), Grown-Ups Table treats 16 diners to a special three-course meal prepared at the Arcadia-area restaurant. As in previous years, Grown-Ups Table will dish out family-style meals and wine in a particular theme at the community table. Tune in to the Beckett’s Table Facebook page each Wednesday to learn what is being served that night.
Tonight, the public is invited to attend Kelly’s Annual Affair, an evening celebration inspired by the Art Deco-style Roaring 20s and 30s era. The free event will start at 7 p.m. with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a must-see candy station. There will also be food and drinks specials, models pacing the restaurant in 20s- and 30s-style clothing and vintage cars lining the parking in front of the pub and eatery.
From June 12 to July 13, Yard House will be airing every soccer match live from Brazil on the restaurant’s flat-screen televisions. During the match, guests can enjoy the extensive draft beer offerings, shareable appetizers or try one of Yard House’s new Brazilian-inspired cocktails: the Citrus Agave Caipirinha, the Brazilian Mai Tai or the Rio de Janeiro Mule.
Half Moon Windy City Sports Grill in the Biltmore area will air the World Cup soccer games June 12 through July 13, and it’s opening at 9 a.m. for the early matches. The restaurant will dish up festive Brazilian specialty food and drinks.
Any time you dine out at Grimaldi’s you will have the opportunity to help a child in need. Diners will be able to donate $1 or $5 to help end the cycle of abuse and neglect. All of the proceeds will go to Childhelp programs and services such as  Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline (1-800-4-A-CHILD), Childhelp Children’s Advocacy Centers, Childhelp Foster Family and Adoption Agencies and Childhelp Speak Up Be Safe.
Savor J&G Steakhouse’s summer Kitchen Table Series, where Executive Chef Jacques Qualin will invite some of his favorite local chefs into the kitchen to co-host a meet and greet, followed by a multi-course tasting. Kicking off on Friday, June 13 at 6 p.m., grab a behind-the-scenes look at the kitchen, learn how to prepare (and pair) each dish, and then sit back and enjoy a multi-course tasting. On Wednesday, June 18, Bink’s Scottsdale (pictured) will host a special four-course dinner with wine pairings from Arizona’s award-winning Lawrence Dunham Vineyards. Courses include mushroom ragout and peach gazpacho. The dinner with wine pairings is $80 plus tax and tip per person and begins at 6:30 p.m.
The Cove Trattoria is planning a Summer Wine Series in partnership with Vino 750.  The casual event will take place once a month during the summer months, with the next one is set for Sunday, June 15th from 4 to 6 p.m. It will feature informal tastings of up to three varietals and light appetizers for $15 per person.  A representative from Vino 750 will be on-hand pouring rosé and a couple of other red wines. Mastro’s Ocean Club will host an exclusive wine dinner with special guest Peter Mondavi, Jr., from world-renowned Charles Krug Winery, on Tuesday, June 17. Guests will enjoy an exceptional four-course menu paired with specially selected wines from the Napa Valley winery. Additionally, the evening will include an auction where guests will have the opportunity to bid on an 18-liter bottle of 2011 Charles Krug Vintage Selection Cabernet Sauvignon. Proceeds from the auction will directly benefit the local chapter of Make-A-Wish.
