In celebration of Mardi Gras, Southern Rail (pictured) in Phoenix is bringing the Big Easy’s traditions to the Valley for its inaugural  celebration on Tuesday, Feb. 17. All day long, guests can “search for the baby” in their own personal King Cake, while adorning colorful beads and sipping on Southern Rail’s signature Sazerac for just $5 a glass (available Sunday, Feb. 15 through Tuesday, Feb. 17). For those who want the entire “N’awlins” experience, the restaurant will be offering live jazz featuring some of Dixieland’s greatest hits, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Scramble is giving away free pancakes all day next Monday, Feb. 9 in celebration of its first anniversary in Scottsdale. The free pancake promo is for the Scottsdale location only.
Monday, Feb. 9 is National Pizza Day. Locally owned and operated pizzeria, Fired Pie, is celebrating by offering buy one pizza get one pizza free at all of their nine locations on National Pizza Day. This offer is valid for dine in only.
On Friday, Feb. 13, come to Luci’s Healthy Marketplace in Phoenix and learn the art of making Valentine’s Day desserts–including truffle tarts, Italian chocolate bread pudding and more–from Chef James Monaci. The class begins at 6:30 p.m. and goes until 8:30 p.m. All classes come with wine and cost $49.99 a person. Ingo’s Tasty Food presents Girls Night Out.  Extend your weekend fun with Sunday night tastings monthly starting Feb. 15 at 4 p.m. Ingo’s first tasting will feature sparkling wines selected by LGO wine curator, Kimber Stonehouse on the newly renovated patio. In addition to the complimentary tasting and happy hour, enjoy the fresh dishes at Ingo’s Tasty Food. (Ingo’s Tasty Food second Girls Night Out event will take place on Sunday, March 22 with a complimentary Sangria Tasting.) The events are free; no RSVP is required.
On Wednesday, Feb. 18 the Boulders’ Palo Verde restaurant will be hosting a wine dinner event complete with a reception and a five-course meal by Chef de Cuisine Joshua Winters paired with wines from Rodney Strong Vineyards. $105 per person, not including tax and gratuity.
