International Bacon Day coming Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 to all four Valley locations of Snooze, an AM Eatery, where the restaurant will be celebrating with a special menu of bacon-themed food (including the Wake Me Up Before You Oink Oink pancake) and drinks. Plus, Snooze is hosting a social media contest offering fans a chance to win Tender Belly’s responsibly raised and delicious bacon, free for a year! Snooze will be donating 10 percent of that day’s profits to support the nonprofit Slow Food USA, and its efforts to inspire individuals and communities to change the world through food that is good, clean and fair for all. To enter Snooze’s International Bacon Day contest and win free Tender Belly bacon for one year, write your love letter to bacon in a haiku or poem and post it on Facebook as a comment on their International Bacon Day post. Four winners will be chosen for their ode to bacon and will win bacon for a year from Tender Belly as well as a one-year membership to Slow Food USA.
In honor of Hunger Action Month, Spinato’s is stepping up to help the one in six families in Arizona struggling with food insecurity. First, Spinato’s will donate to Changing Lives Center, where 150 women and children will be served Spinato’s pizzas. Then near the end of the month, Spinato’s will shut down its 7th St. location to host 150 resident from Phoenix Rescue Mission. The residents will be treated to the full Spinato’s experience – they’ll be seated, receive a menu and be served as any other guest would.
Grimaldi’s Pizzeria launches its Fall Favorites Menu Sept. 1. These limited-time selections reflect the tastes of the season, including a bleu cheese romaine wedge salad, buffalo chicken pizza, green apple sangria, seasonal lemonades and Italian sodas, new cocktails, as well as a caramel apple cheesecake and a chocolate cheesecake. And now is the perfect time to stop by Grimaldi’s. Throughout September, in honor of Hunger Awareness Month, guests who dine at any Arizona Grimaldi’s Pizzeria location can donate to No Kid Hungry, a charitable organization pushing to end childhood hunger in America by ensuring all children get the healthy food they need, every day. Donate up to $10 to No Kid Hungry while dining at Grimaldi’s and receive an equivalent amount in Grimaldi’s bonus cards, limited one per customer per visit, good for the next visit. All of the proceeds raised will benefit No Kid Hungry.
Perfect to savor during Labor Day weekend, stop by Hopdoddy Burger Bar for two limited-time menu items. The Sonoma Burger features an Angus beef patty topped with a cabernet reduction, goat cheese, garlic tomato jam, and black pepper aioli, available now through Sept. 5. Available Aug. 30 through Sept. 19, sip the Afterschool Special milkshake with creamy peanut butter and sweet grape jelly, house-made ice cream and topped with buttery toasted croutons and whipped cream. Plus, as part of a commitment to serving its communities, Hopdoddy Burger Bar locations will come together to aid those affected by Hurricane Harvey by making the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund its Goodnight for a Good Cause partner for the month of September. On Sept. 4 and 5,  all sales from Goodnight for a Good Cause Burger will be donated, as well as $1 for every drink Hopdoddy Burger Bar sells made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka (up to $10,000). All month long, all Hopdoddy Burger Bar locations will donate $1 from every Goodnight for a Good Cause burger.
Chompie’s partners with Singleton Moms this year to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This September, Chompie’s will donate one dollar from each entrée ordered on their new, special three-item menu to Singleton Moms. The menu will include Josh’s whole-grain French toast, a fitness omelet and Classic Grandpa Ruby’s reuben. Plus, throughout the year, Chompie’s also makes a donation from each kids meal purchased to help Singleton Moms in their efforts to help local families affected by cancer.
Through Sept. 16, fans of Central Phoenix’s St. Francis can enjoy a free iron skillet pancake (pictured), which was featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” every Saturday during brunch. The sweet deal includes one complimentary iron skillet pancake (a $10 value) for each table from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Harold’s Cave Creek Corral is hosting its 20th Annual Hawaiian Luau on Sunday, Sept. 3. The festive party features a pig roast luau buffet, Hawaiian luau dancers, reggae music, a limbo and hula contest, face painting, Lei making, Hawaiian vendors, drink specials and more. Gates open at 6 p.m. with the buffet (two pig roast stations with succulent roast pork, smoked Mahi Mahi, a shrimp/seafood casserole, herb roasted chicken, Teriyaki steak, and other traditional Hawaiian cuisine) beginning at 6:15 p.m. Guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets early, and open seating is first come first serve. Tickets are $30 per adult and $15 for children 12 and under. Larger parties can purchase a 10-top VIP table for $375 which includes a front-row table, cocktail service and complimentary Hawaiian gift.
Tuesday, Sept. 5, is National Cheese Pizza Day and Fired Pie wants to help you celebrate by enjoying half off a cheese pizza with the purchase of any drink. (This is for cheese pizzas only. Not available on third party deliveries and one per person, dine in only.) Plus, in honor or Hunger Awareness Month and all September long,  Fired Pie is participating in the No Kid Hungry Campaign. Every $1 you donate to No Kid Hungry while at any of Fired Pie’s 16 metro Phoenix locations or two Tucson locations, you will receive a voucher for a free Pookie (a chocolate chip cookie or macadamia nut cookie dough topped with vanilla bean ice cream) that you can use on your next visit. (You will have 30 days from the date of purchase to use the voucher. Voucher cannot be used on the purchase date.)
Now through Sept. 6, TEXAZ Grill will donate $1 from every lunch chicken fried steak sold and $2 for every dinner chicken fried steak sold to relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. The donations will go directly to GlobalGiving.org to assist with emergency supplies and long-term recovery efforts.
