Z’Tejas wants to celebrate teachers in August. At the Casa Paloma location in Chandler, teachers can get an Appletini or salad for $7 and both for $12 every Friday. At the Paradise Valley Gateway location in Scottsdale, teachers can get a free Chambord with any entrée purchase on Friday, August 10.
On Thursday, August 16, guests of Market Street Kitchen can enjoy an exclusive tasting and sipping event featuring rums and plates inspired from the islands — the Caribbean, Martinique, Puerto Rico and Jamaica. Four local bartenders will present tastings from the different rum-producing countries, a cocktail featuring the star spirit, and bites from each region while educating diners about the islands, starting at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $55 per person and tickets are limited. The highly anticipated second location of Angels Trumpet Ale House in Arcadia (pictured) is now open for lunch and dinner, daily from 11 a.m. to midnight. To celebrate, Angels Trumpet Arcadia, and the adjacent Tall Glass cocktail lounge, are co-hosting a grand opening party on Friday, August 10, from 3 p.m. to midnight. Angels Trumpet Arcadia will be uncorking several exclusive, super-rare kegs just for the grand opening. Plus, the first 250 people to arrive will receive a complimentary limited edition Angels Trumpet Arcadia T-shirts. And all grand opening guests are invited to enjoy Angels Trumpet’s weekday happy hour from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., followed by specially-priced beer flights from 6 p.m. to midnight.
Hotel Valley Ho’s “Show Stopper” Shake for August has made its debut: the Mint Chocolate Madness. The shake features a mint shake, Aero Balls, Andes mints, fudge sauce, mint crystals, dark chocolate brownie, dark chocolate bark, chocolate chunks, mint chocolate Klondike, hand-rolled mint chocolate truffles, whipped cream and fresh mint from restaurant’s herb garden. Visit ZuZu, the hotel’s signature restaurant, to enjoy a shake ($16). They are available every day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Starting this week, Dorian in Old Town Scottsdale will be open seven days a week. Breakfast will be available from 7 a.m. to noon; happy hour at the bar will be from 4 to 6 p.m. and dinner from 5-10 p.m. daily. The bar will remain open Friday and Saturdays until 1 a.m.
Midici The Neapolitan Pizza Company will host a complimentary (with food purchase) paint night where diners can learn from artist instruction, or they can create their own masterpiece while enjoying wine and authentic Italian pizza on August 13 at 7 p.m. Event includes paint supplies, and participants must register in advance at vaeaz.com. Donations and food purchases benefit valley arts and educations programs.
Both Valley Zookz locations will be featuring a different 25 percent-off sandwich discount every week in August, in honor of National Sandwich Month.
Week of August 6-12: Cheddar, crispy bacon, tomatoes and thinly sliced turkey topped with chipotle and green onion scallop potatoes
Week of August 13-19: Parmesan cheese and turkey topped with a kale slaw, pineapple, shredded coconut and roasted almonds in Zookz Voodoo dressing.
Week of August 20-26: Brie, ham, apricot preserves and roasted almonds
Week of August 27-31: Cheddar, Monterey Jack cheeses and thinly sliced ham topped with a creamy sriracha and green onion mac and cheese
