Haven’t made it to the fair just yet? No worries. ZuZu at Hotel Valley Ho has you covered with its State Fair “Show Stopper” Shake, available all month long. The over-the-top dessert features a vanilla Twinkie milkshake, strawberry sauce, funnel cake, a deep-fried cheesecake ball, popcorn ball, white-chocolate-covered Twinkie, cotton candy and more.
Pomo Pizzeria‘s downtown location will re-open on Thursday, Oct. 25. The public is invited to the grand reopening with complimentary bites from 5 to 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy samples of new menu items such as salumi boards, pastas and bruschetta. Everyone will be offered a welcome punch and end the experience with a Luna Gelateria gelato. The public is also welcome to attend a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m. in front of the restaurant.
Thai Chili 2 Go locations Valleywide are offering specials for an important food holiday in October: National Curry Week (Oct. 22-28). Throughout National Curry Week, guests receive one curry dish for half price when purchasing another at regular price, including Red, Yellow, Green, Mussamun and Panang varieties.
The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck is rolling into Tucson for the first time on Saturday, Oct. 20. The popular cafe-on-wheels will be stopping by La Encantada from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fans of Hello Kitty can look forward to exclusive goodies (pictured) and limited-edition collectibles.

Mastro’s signature warm butter cake is taking on a fall spin with the addition of real pumpkin and seasonal hard spices. Topped and baked with pumpkin pie spiced cream cheese and finished with caramelized raw sugar, the Pumpkin Butter Cake is served with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and homemade whipped cream.
MAD Greens has launched its fall menu with five all new recipes full of rich flavors and tons of texture. The new recipes were inspired by the spices and curries popular in Thailand and include the Bangkok Bowl, Queen Suri Salad, Thai Chicken & Rice Soup and other hearty, healthy dishes.

U.S. Egg is celebrating the fall season with a new pumpkin spiked coffee. U.S. Egg’s house coffee is enhanced with a shot of bourbon, pumpkin pie spices and topped with whipped cream. This drink is served hot or cold and sells for $5.25.
Dish it Out, hosted by the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Phoenix, will be held at High Street in Phoenix on Oct. 21 at 5 p.m. The event helps fund impactful programs for our Valley’s youth. Through local support, programs like the Boys and Girls Club are made possible. The charity event will feature award-winning cuisine and beverages from more than 80 top-rated local restaurants such as Bourbon & Bones, Ocean Prime, Flemings, Fogo De Chao and Unbaked. Alcoholic beverages will include craft brews from Crescent Crown partners and Breakthru Beverage will host cocktails and wine stations. Live music will play throughout the night. Whole Foods Market has selected Feeding Matters as the Arizona beneficiary of its five percent Community Giving Day on Thursday, Oct. 18. As part of the company’s commitment to its communities, Whole Foods Market will donate five percent of net sales from its 10 Arizona stores to Feeding Matters. The funds will support Feeding Matters’ efforts to improve care for children with pediatric feeding disorders (PFD) through advocacy, education, support and research.
Gertrude’s at Desert Botanical Garden is serving a new fall menu at lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. The new ingredient-driven menus feature locally grown and sourced ingredients with something from Arizona in nearly every dish; the menus feature butternut squash, beets, beans, ancient grains, wild boar and duck, with favorites being the Three Sisters Soup with butternut squash, Sweet Beets Cheesecake and more.
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers will continue its semi-annual donation drive, partnering with Arizona based New Pathways for Youth. From now until Oct. 28, Raising Cane’s invites Caniacs to join in support NPFY. Community members can enjoy their favorite chicken finger meals and donate a dollar or more at the register to help Phoenix’s most at-risk youth. Donations will help to support NPFY’s one-to-one mentoring programs designed to transform the lives of at-risk youth and make our community stronger.
