Japanese-American Restaurant PYRO Opens at The Grove Phoenix

PYRO, a Japanese-American bistro, is now open at The Grove Phoenix in Arcadia. This Flagship Restaurant Group development is an open-flame concept that serves a modern take on traditional Japanese cuisine and cocktails.

The new restaurant offers a refined, yet inviting, dining experience with architecture inspired by 1930s Japanese casinos. Guests will find luxurious velvet and high-end touches mixed with traditional geisha patterns, textiles and accessories. There is an expansive dining room and an outdoor patio space.

At PYRO, the team works with live fire to create unique and compelling flavors by roasting, searing, grilling and smoking different ingredients in each dish. The menu includes all-natural prime ribeye, house-made noodles, sashimi, crudo and branzino.

Some of the top dishes feature a 40-day dry-aged bone-in ribeye with housemade pickles and PYRO jus; Dungeness crab noodles; XO Suzuki tartare; Uni hand roll and Iberico pork skewers with tare, pickled daikon and Yuzu aioli.

For drinks, the restaurant has high-quality Japanese whisky, wine and sake. Some specialty cocktails include the Sake Spritz made with Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, Aperol, Junmai sake, sparkling yuzu and lemon, as well as the Calamansi margarita made with Lalo Tequila, Thai chili, calamansi sorbet, aloe liqueur and lime.

PYRO also serves desserts, such as a cherry almond tart, opera cake and seasonal homemade ice cream that includes a Japanese sweet potato flavor.

PYRO is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m.–10:30 p.m. The bar is open daily from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Social hour (PYRO’s version of happy hour) is available Monday through Friday from 3 p.m.–6 p.m. Reservations can be made on OpenTable.
