The Rosticceria, a new Italian restaurant specializing in Abruzzo-style cooking, has opened its doors in Phoenix.
This newest restaurant concept by The Maggiore Group features a menu of wood-fired meats with an Italian twist.
“The inspiration for the new concept came from traveling through the Rome and Abruzzo regions with my wife, Cristina, and father, Tomaso,” says Joey Maggiore, chef and co-founder of The Maggiore Group and Chef Joey Concepts.
The traditional cuisine of Abruzzo, a region of Southern Italy located east of Rome, is a blend of mountain and coastal influences, featuring staples such as bread, pasta, meat, fish, cheese and wine.
Some signature items on the menu at The Rosticceria are the Neapolitan fried pizza, rotisserie chicken and porchetta, a savory Italian culinary tradition. Other favorite dishes include calzones, paninis and arrosticini.
For those with a sweet tooth, make sure to try the restaurant’s zeppole, pizzelle or Italian s’mores. Guests can also enjoy a build-your-own gelato shake bar. The Rosticceria also has a craft cocktail menu featuring Meringue Limoncello Margaritas, Joey’s Negroni, Cristina’s Aperol Spritz and more.
The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate a total of 226 guests. The interior design incorporates inspiration from travels across Italy (think Roman relics and graffiti).
The Rosticceria is located at 12811 N. Tatum Blvd. in Phoenix and is open daily from 3 p.m.–11 p.m.
