SugarJam The Southern Kitchen in Scottsdale debuted exciting updates to its offerings, including a brand-new menu and extended Saturday hours. Known for its vibrant Southern-inspired brunches, SugarJam is introducing a fresh concept called Bliss After Brunch, designed to keep the good times rolling well into the evening.
While SugarJam’s regular brunch hours traditionally end at 3 p.m., Bliss After Brunch invites guests to stick around and savor delicious bites until 6 p.m. on Saturdays. The new experience features a specially curated small plate menu, perfect for those looking to continue their weekend celebrations in style. Guests can also enjoy various fun games and special events, adding to the lively atmosphere SugarJam is known for.
“I have been asked to be open longer for a long time. I have also noticed, especially on Saturdays, that guests tend to leave the restaurant at four or 4:30, an hour and a half later than our 3 p.m. closing time,” Owner and CEO Dana Dumas said.
After noticing that folks didn’t seem to want to leave, Dumas decided to extend business hours to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and even busted out the board games to add an interactive element.
“This gives guests a chance to get to know their neighbor,” Dumas said. “Let’s have fun without being on our phones! Let’s be social with no pretenses! Another DJ comes in to keep the vibes going. We have a full bar and SugarJam’s signature margarita flights that have been popular.”
The small plate menu includes options such as the signature SJ wing platter, the crowd-favorite SJ SMASH burger & fries, loaded bliss fries, and the catfish po’boy. For those seeking something unique, the menu boasts seasoned mozzarella sticks and Caulifyah Wings, a fiery creation crafted with hot sauce and pepper.
“A big guest favorite is the wing platter that comes with one dozen wings in three flavors: honey BBQ, SJ dry rub, and Johnni(y)e sauce, served with seasoned fries, carrots and celery,” Dumas said. “The runner up is the catfish po’boy. Bliss after Brunch is the pre-game before going out on Saturday night.”
