We totally understand. By now, you’ve probably had your fill of egg nog, peppermint anything and other usual holiday fare. Basically, you want nothing to do with winter fare–that is until you read Z’Tejas new winter menu. The Valley’s several Z’Tejas restaurants (Tempe, Scottsdale, Phoenix and Chandler) are all doling out a special winter menu and there isn’t a candy cane in sight. Z’Tejas’ winter menu is available through March 6. Here’s what you can expect. We’re most looking forward to the shrimp papaya enchiladas and the Southwestern comfort pie (how warming and satisfying does that sound?)
Southwestern Comfort Pie:
Slow-roasted beef barbacoa in green chile sauce, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, sweet corn and cotija, cheddar and Jack cheeses, topped with parmesan bacon gratin and baked in a cast-iron skillet.
Bistro Salad:
Flame-grilled bistro filet, roasted red and golden beets, topped with mesclun mix salad lightly tossed with tequila lime vinaigrette, crumbled bleu cheese, red onions and cherry tomatoes.
Pan Roasted Stuffed Chicken:
Tender chicken breast, stuffed full of apple, cornbread, pecans and herbs, topped with sweet beet straw, served with green chile cream sauce and savory cranberry-sweet potato hash.
Shrimp Papaya Enchiladas:
Two fresh corn tortillas rolled and stuffed along with celery, onion, and spices, topped with chile de arbol black bean sauce, served with sweet corn rice and nopalitos salad.
Jumbo Lump Crab Tamales:
Corn husks stuffed with masa, roasted Anaheim peppers, jalapeños and onions, served with nopalitos salad and tomatillo salsa rajo
Ancho Marinated Lamb Chops:
Seared and topped with a mint chimichurri sauce served with sautéed spinach, caramelized carrots, roasted garlic mashed potatoes with a guajillo au jus
Z Seasonal Grill:
A sample of New York Strip with a caramelized onion sauce, seasoned lamb chops with a mint chimichurri sauce and cilantro pesto marinated grilled shrimp, served with nopalitos salad and savory cranberry-sweet potato hash.
