I’ve heard that no one can harmonize quite like siblings, which is probably why family music acts are so very popular. And I think it’s fair to assume that the same can be said for sibs who are also chefs. This weekend, Chef Mel Mecinas of Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North is teaming up with his brother, Honorio Mecinas, Chef de Cuisine at VooDoo Steak & Lounge at the Rio Las Vegas, for a one-of-a-kind tasting event, a “Two-Way” tasting at the resort’s Talavera restaurant. Each course of the five-course menu will highlight a particular ingredient, with which each chef will showcase their own specialized culinary technique.
On Saturday, Aug. 20 from 6 to 10 p.m., diners are invited to Talavera to indulge in the brothers’ “Two-Way” tasting. The dinner is $75, including wine pairings. Here’s what diners can expect from the Mecinas brothers:
