One of our favorite annual culinary events is taking place this week–and I urge you all to mark your calendars. The sixth annual Forks & Corks event, presented by Arizona Hotel & Lodging Association (AzHLA), the Arizona Restaurant & Hospitality Association (ARHA) and the Arizona resort and restaurant community, will commence at the Camelback Esplanade (east end of the complex in the outside courtyard area) this Thursday, April 2, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Chefs from more than 25 Valley dining destinations, including Kai (Arizona’s only Five Star/Five Diamond restaurant), The Arizona Biltmore, The District at Sheraton Downtown, Royal Palms, Loew’s Ventana Canyon and Fleming’s, to name a few, will be there to represent. Because walking from booth to booth is sure to work up a thirst, there will also be wine tastings and beer pairings (which is a new Forks & Corks feature this year).
Stellar eats and sips aren’t the only things on the menu: Jazz music will fill the air thanks to local favorites, Doc Jones and Nayo. And there will be plenty of chances to win one-of-a-kind getaways (summer vacation time is coming up!) and gift certificates via the silent auction. Plus, all proceeds will go towards providing scholarships for the Arizona Hotel and Restaurant Education Foundations and to promote cuisine from Arizona’s top-notch assortment of restaurants and resorts.
Tickets are $75 or $65 with advance purchase. Please note that this is a 21 and over event. www.forksandcorks.org.
