One of the Valley’s most anticipated culinary festivals is back next weekend to delight those in the mood for great food, wine, beer, chef demos and much more. Devoured Culinary Classic takes place March 9 and 10 at the Phoenix Art Museum’s Dorrance Sculpture Garden. Devoured sets itself apart from other local culinary festivals as it likes to focus on a more intimate, exclusive setting for its guests and its emphasis is on slow food, local, organic and artisan products. “The museum has been a vibrant destination for more than 50 years and having a culinary festival here brings together visitors that enjoy art for the soul and the palate,” says James K. Ballinger, the Sybil Harrington Director, Phoenix Art Museum. “What a wonderful experience to enjoy tasteful artistic dishes in the surroundings of Phoenix Art Museum.”
Devoured attendees will enjoy the eats of 74 restaurants and 24 wineries and breweries. The likes of Arrogant Butcher, Brat Haus, El Chorro, Different Pointe of View, Lon’s at the Hermosa, LGO, Sushi Roku, St. Francis, Taggia, T. Cook’s, The Farm at South Mountain, Urban Cookies, Whoopie Baking Co., Short Leash Hot Dogs, House of Tricks, The Parlor Pizzeria, Windsor, Churn, Barrio Cafe, Kai, Petite Maison and many more will be in attendance. (Note that the lineup differs between the Saturday and Sunday events.)
In addition to plenty of tasty nibbles, there will be chef demonstrations brought to you by Sub Zero Wolf, wineries and breweries by Quench/Hensley and the dessert bar is provided by AJ’s Fine foods.
Devoured Culinary Classic is sponsored by Devour Phoenix (a nonprofit coalition of more than 27 chef-driven restaurants) and Local First Arizona. The event takes places from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $59 for a one-day pass. http://www.devouredphoenix.com.
