Phoenix Public Market is already one of downtown’s top attractions. Now, with the May opening of Phoenix Public Market Cafe (from the people behind St. Francis restaurant), the area will draw even more attention from Phoenicians and those making the trek from other parts of the Valley.
Phoenix Public Market Cafe offers breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. During a recent breakfast visit, we experienced this hip new hangout first hand. The restaurant has a rustic-meets-industrial look with plenty of gorgeous warm woods. The patio is open and airy with bench seating and cafe lights. Even on a hot day, the patio offers plenty of shade. At one side, guests can order delicious Cartel coffee. At the center of the restaurant, diners can shop oodles of goods from local vendors, like Millie’s Caramels, Dapper + Dash and many more. Diners can even purchase fresh-cut flowers. And Phoenix Public Market Cafe’s fast-casual concept allows diners to order the eats at the counter while they ogle delicious cakes, cookies and more in the tempting pastry case.
The Flanched Flarney Garney is a delicious egg sandwich topped with avocado, onion, thick and crispy bacon and cheese. It is crowned with a golden, delicious bun. For a unique eat, the chickpea pancake provides a unique texture and lots of yum, especially when topped with olive oil, bananas, walnuts and agave syrup. Even the wallet-friendly kids’ menu is full of hearty eats for the littles. (PS All proceeds from kid’s meals will support the St. Mary’s Food Bank’s backpack program, which provides weekend meals to underprivileged youth.) The fruit plate, especially, is brimming with fresh melons and berries–every kid’s dream dish. Plus, the menu offers plenty of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and and dairy-free items for diners with special needs. http://phxpublicmarket.com/.
