Straight from my favorite city, San Francisco, comes the Academy Award, Golden Globe, Grammy Award winning actor and comedian — Robin Williams. This high energy, animated performer is set to do his stand-up “Weapons of Self-Destruction” act as part of his 35-city tour. This being his first since 2002.

His new tour, “Weapons of Self Destruction” was announced last year after his six-year hiatus. Williams decided to come back after the Bush Administration created an easy-target for a comedic routine. In the past, Robin Williams, has performed notable sold-out tours, including  “An Evening With Robin Williams” (1982), “Robin Williams: At The Met” (1986) and “Robin Williams LIVE on Broadway” (2002). “Robin Williams LIVE on Broadway” broke records, selling out shows in a matter of only thirty minutes, according to Wikipedia.

Now here’s a great way to surprise your loved one on Valentine’s Day… Take him or her to the Wal-Mart Superstore in Tempe (just wait, it gets better) to pick up a dozen roses, chocolates or a supersized stuffed animal and surprise him or her with John Legend! From 1 to 3 p.m., this incredible soul singer, songwriter, and pianist will be signing autographs and promoting his all-new hit album Evolver.

John Legend has won six Grammy Awards and has done collaborations with Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Lauren Hill, Alicia Keys, Fort Minor and Black Eyed Peas. He introduced his studio multiplatinum-selling album Get Lifted in 2004, which featured the hits “Used to Love U” and “Ordinary People.”

  1. hahah John Legend at Wal-Mart. that just sounds do funny. i bet he just loves that type of gig. oh man, what a crappy place to hang out if you are a famous singer. true story: i was in vegas last year and this big bouncer soem sover to my firned and i and asks if we want to come dance and hang out in the vip. so we go, and its john legend and his entourage we were being called over to. so we hung out a bit and then we got bored and the bouncer told us we werent dancing enough, so we had to leave. so funny. what a loser.

  2. That is so crazy that John Legend is at Wal-Mart of all places! Also one of my co-workers is going to the Robin Williams show! I’m so jealous. I love comedy shows.

  3. I’d much rather see Robin Williams than John Legend. (Especially if I had to go hang out at a Wal-Mart!) I was flipping through an US Weekly a while ago and saw and pic of John Legend with this girl I went to high-school with. Apparently he’s not a big enough celebrity yet to date A-listers:)

  4. Back when I somehow ended up on stage doing Improv comedy with a team in Chicago, word around the comedy scene was that Robin Williams stole a lot of his bits. Not sure if it’s true or not, but it seemed to be known. Kind of odd that John Legend was at wal-mart. No Target at least? And don’t get me started on Nik Richie…
