Echo Coffee, a popular Scottsdale-based coffee shop, is not only a favorite among customers for its commitment to quality Third Wave artisan coffee, but also for its dedication to supporting animal welfare through its unique partnership with the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) that is creating a positive impact on both coffee enthusiasts and the local community.
Echo Coffee forged a corporate partnership with AHS by establishing a unique fundraising model under the innovative leadership of 30-year-old owner and passionate animal lover Rob Rigolfi Jr. that positions Echo Coffee as a longtime philanthropic supporter of AHS. Through this inspiring partnership, Echo Coffee has contributed one percent of all revenues, including retail and wholesale, to AHS since 2021.
This winter, Echo Coffee and the Arizona Humane Society are taking their partnership a step further. Echo Coffee will open its second location and continue to donate one percent of all revenues within the AHS’ new, state-of-the-art Rob & Melani Walton Papago Park Campus.
“We welcome Echo Coffee as part of the new Rob and Melani Walton Campus at Papago Park, opening winter 2023,” says AHS President and CEO Steven R. Hansen, DVM. “Onsite, Echo’s full-service shop will offer brewed drinks and pastries to our clients, AHS customers and staff members—an amenity not found at other animal welfare providers.”
Echo Coffee’s substantial program of steady support to AHS stands apart from traditional one-off corporate donations as the first-of-its kind in the Valley, exemplifying its unwavering commitment to animal welfare and making it a unique supporting business for the esteemed animal welfare organization.
“For me, it’s about more than just running a coffee business; it’s about making a lasting difference in the lives of animals and people,” said Rigolfi, Jr. “After my own experience running a nonprofit and operating the coffee shop simultaneously, I realized that supporting an established organization like Arizona Humane Society was the most effective way to combine my love for animals, people and the business.”
To date, Echo Coffee’s philanthropy has funded many life-saving services, including transporting homeless pets to AHS, two months’ worth of medical supplies, two weeks of food for waiting pets, the average cost of care for saving pet lives, grooming services, dental cleaning and sterilizing, along with vaccinating and microchipping homeless pets and feeding abandoned neonatal kittens.
“I believe that animals have the power to bring hope and unconditional love to people facing various challenges in life,” continued Rigolfi, Jr. “By supporting Arizona Humane Society, I am privileged to play a small role in their essential work of rescuing animals and making a profound difference in people’s lives.”
Echo Coffee has become a true destination for coffee aficionados and dog lovers alike, welcoming patrons to bring their canine companions and socialize over a cup of coffee out on the patio. The shop features baked dog treats for their four-legged friends, as well as 12 oz freshly-roasted, organic whole bean coffee “doggie bags” stamped with original renderings of Rigolfi Jr.’s dogs that are for sale in-store and online. Customers get a free cold brew for every two bags of beans purchased in-store. A special Arizona Humane Society blend of coffee is also in the works and will soon be available in-store and online.
