Grass Clippings Rolling Hills Opens New Toptracer Range

Tempe-based Grass Clippings Rolling Hills has officially unveiled its anticipated Toptracer Range, a cutting-edge, technology-driven driving range designed to make golf practice fun and interactive. The new facility opened to the public on November 1, alongside the reopening of Grass Clippings’ renovated 18-hole golf course.

Toptracer offers golfers a new, elevated experience with fully lit bays and the latest shot-tracking technology. With 35 total hitting bays – including 25 covered and equipped with Toptracer monitors – golfers can take their game to the next level. The facility is open from 8 a.m. to midnight, with hourly rentals and unlimited golf balls available. Medium and large buckets of balls are also available.

In addition, the renovated range boasts a new sound system that plays the latest tunes and a full-service bar offering drinks and snacks. For food, guests can enjoy authentic Mexican fare from the Taco Del Valle Lalocura food truck. During the summer, a misting system will help keep golfers cool. The Range’s custom Grass Clippings-branded targets at various yardages offer golfers the perfect practice aid for honing their skills.

Toptracer is the same innovative ball-tracking technology seen on television during professional golf broadcasts. At Grass Clippings, guests will enjoy this same technology, which allows them to track their golf shots in real-time. The system captures detailed data on every swing, such as distance, ball speed, and trajectory, and records the information in the app.

The interactive Toptracer Range experience is designed for players of all skill levels. Gamified features allow for competitive and recreational experiences, ensuring everyone can have a good time while improving their game.

“Our brand-new driving range experience will be a huge hit with guests day and night,” Co-Founder Jake Hoselton said. “At any given time, we’ll have guests sharpening their skills using the latest technology to track their stats, casual golfers enjoying time with friends, and players warming up for their round on our 18-hole course.”

As part of Grass Clippings Rolling Hills’ ongoing expansion, the venue will soon introduce the Glenrosa Bar, a Sonoran-Mexico-themed beach bar adjacent to the practice putting green and first tee. Slated to open by the end of November, the bar will feature signature cocktails, televisions, and seating for over 100 guests. The Glenrosa Bar will also serve as a precursor to the Glenrosa Restaurant, which will open in spring 2025.

Founded in 2018, Grass Clippings is dedicated to growing the game of golf and celebrating the greenskeepers who make it possible. The company’s flagship location, Grass Clippings Rolling Hills, embodies its vision for the future of golf and entertainment, combining high-tech amenities with a welcoming atmosphere.

In addition to operating Rolling Hills Golf Course, Grass Clippings Rolling Hills is hosting the 2024 Troon Access GL Championship Presented by GolfNow. Spanning two days between December 5 and 6, 36 holes of high-stakes par 3 golf will be played, in addition to country music concerts, food trucks, party tents, a beer garden, and more.
