This Venue’s Mission? Make Pickleball Electric

Electric Pickle is ready to serve a mix of pickleball, globally inspired eats, and outdoor fun as it prepares to open its 4.5-acre flagship venue in Tempe in December. The concept promises a high-energy space for sports lovers, foodies, and anyone looking to unwind.

Located near 1-10 and Warner Road, Electric Pickle was created by Eureka! Restaurant Group and Knighthead Capital Management. It aims to blend the thrill of the game with upscale amenities.

“Pickleball has taken this country by storm, and with Electric Pickle, we’re aiming to elevate the experience further,” Founder and CEO Paul Frederick said. “We’re blending our love for the fast-paced, action-packed game with our passion for delivering upscale culinary offerings in a vibrant and social atmosphere.”

The debut features nine state-of-the-art pickleball courts – four covered for year-round play that include private cabanas. Thanks to bold design elements by Brick & West, the venue transports players and diners into a lush green oasis. In addition to the courts, there are Full Swing Golf Simulators, bocce ball courts, ping-pong tables, and a stage on a sprawling lawn.

“It’s all about creating the ultimate ‘vacation in your hometown’ vibe,” Frederick said. “Tempe’s energy inspired us, and we want Electric Pickle to be where guests discover their new favorite DJ, unwind, and let loose in style.”

One of Electric Pickle’s standout features is its two-story, 12,000-square-foot restaurant. Guests can expect creative, elevated bites like sticky short ribs with a tangy Korean BBQ glaze, truffle bacon mashed potato pizza, and garlic noodles with shrimp. If that doesn’t sweeten the deal, the four-layer carrot cake topped with cream cheese frosting and walnuts might.

“From pickleball matches to electrifying bites and laid-back hangouts, we’re building a spot where high-energy fun and memorable moments happen naturally,” Frederick said. “We can’t wait to host events that bring people together for celebrations, connections, and truly unique experiences.”

Electric Pickle’s courts will incorporate AI technology to elevate the pickleball experience with detailed gameplay analysis. This is the latest push from Knighthead, which has been increasingly involved in the pickleball scene – most recently teaming up with NFL legend Tom Brady to acquire the Las Vegas Night Owls in the Major League Pickleball league.

Electric Pickle has ambitious plans to expand nationwide, with openings set for Nevada, Texas and California. For more information, visit electricpickle.com.
