Clive Collective, the renowned Scottsdale-based hospitality group behind some of the Valley’s most innovative concepts, announced the opening of its latest venture, Neon Spur. Located at 680 S. Mill Ave. in Tempe, this new 1970s-inspired western dive bar is poised to be a standout in the city’s nightlife scene.
In partnership with kNOw Name Concepts, Clive Collective brings a nostalgic yet fresh vibe to the city with Neon Spur, drawing on the laid-back spirit of the 1970s and merging it with a retro cowboy aesthetic to create a unique atmosphere that is both inviting and memorable.
The venue features an indoor space and an outdoor trailer bar, adorned with vintage furniture, western-inspired decor, and bold neon signs that set the stage for a fun, relaxed gathering spot. Neon Spur offers a classic dive bar experience with a modern twist, blending quirky, nostalgic elements with a lively environment perfect for socializing.
At the heart of the experience is Neon Spur’s drink menu, featuring a curated selection of cold cans and bold cocktails. For food, the bar will offer a menu of hearty American comfort dishes, crafted by Clive Collective’s Director of Culinary Operations, celebrity chef Beau MacMillan.
“Neon Spur is designed to stand out amongst the local bar scene,” Mikis Troyan, Clive Collective co-founder and managing partner, said. “While developing the concept, we focused on creating a fun, unforgettable experience where every detail, from the atmosphere to the drinks to the vibe, sparks something fresh and exciting.”
Clive Collective has already made a name for itself in Scottsdale with other standout projects like Cala, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, and Tell Your Friends, a speakeasy that pairs craft cocktails with an intimate setting. With Neon Spur, the group is expanding into Tempe, a move that will bring its signature, innovative concepts to a wider audience.
“Neon Spur isn’t just another bar, it’s a chance to breathe new life into the area and deliver a space for guests to create moments they’ll remember long after they leave,” said Justin Massei, co-founder and operating partner of Clive Collective.
“The intention is to foster a lively, hospitable space where locals and visitors come together to socialize and enjoy cold cans, stiff drinks and good backyard grub,” Troyan added.
Neon Spur will be open Tuesday through Sunday, from 3p.m. to 2 a.m., and will be closed on Mondays. For more information, follow the bar on Instagram (@neonspur) or visit neonspurdive.com.
