Maggie Fink will be opening her eco-friendly, non-toxic boutique in the up and coming Optima Camelview Village in January. Not only will its hair techniques be environmentally conscious, but the building will be built from “green” materials and techniques. It will use soy-based concrete stain on the floors, recycled fixtures and low-flow toilets. The left over hair clippings will also be recycled. They will be sent to a non-profit organization called Matter of Trust, which uses the hair to make mats to clean up oil spills.
No more holding your breath either. The salon will be “clean-air” so no harsh chemical treatments, and it will use a non-toxic coloring line with lower amounts of hydrogen peroxide and other toxic ingredients.
