Five Free Yoga Classes for the Unemployed
Being without a job these days is not uncommon. And in hopes of relieving stress and anxiety, Bikram Yoga Institute in downtown Scottsdale is offering five free classes to anyone who is without a job. Yogis will receive a punch card to keep track of their classes and, if they want to keep practicing, they can purchase 30 more days of instruction for only $30. Bikram Yoga consists of a series of 26 poses and is set in a heated room (100-110 degrees). Each class is 90 minutes. Free Admission to Valley Museums
Now instead of just checking out a book at your local library, check out a “Culture Pass” which gives you and up to three others free access to dozens of museums throughout the Valley. The passes are accepted at the Arizona Science Center, Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix Zoo and 10 other museums. One Culture Pass can be checked out per person and are lent out for up to seven days. Free Dance Lessons
Just in time for the bikini season, Kimberly Lewis School of Dance (KLSD) in Ahwatukee is giving away two weeks of free dance lessons, because who has a better body than a dancer? Going on June 8 through 11 and July 20 through 23, adults and kids 2 years and up can enjoy a free hip hop, ballet or jazz class. Free Sunday Concerts at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park
From now through July 5, it’s Sunday Funday at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park as they are hosting free concerts from 7:30 to 9 p.m. each week. Bring the entire family and enjoy a variety of musical genres and the cool evening breeze. If you bring the little ones, be sure to take them on the famous train and/or carousel as they will be running until 9 p.m. Carousel rides are $1 per person. Free Music Lesson
If interested in taking up a musical instrument, now’s the time. Foothills Music in Ahwautukee is offering free, no-obligation music lesson normally worth $32.50. Choose from strings, horns, saxophones, drums, guitar and more. The teaching at FM is only the best as every instructor has at least a master’s degree in music.   2. i cant imagine being able to relax in yoga class when i am unemployed, knowing i shoudl be trying hard to get back into the work force. i can barley attend a yoga class with a job, since i feel gyuilt about wasting my time.
