Blues, Desert & Soul, a fun art boutique and gallery with a focus on musical, regional and recreational interests, has opened at the Park 5th Avenue Shops in Old Town Scottsdale.
With a heart for art, music and adventure, Blues, Desert & Soul features a unique collection of art and quality goods by solo artist Brian Banash that depict the influences of iconic musicians within blues, jazz and R&R, as well as local destinations and prominent landmarks centered around Southwest culture with influences of Banash’s coastal lifestyle.
As an artist, surfer and music enthusiast, Banash has almost 40 years worth of work inspired by his love for music and recreational pursuits across the country. Blues, Desert & Soul owner Carissa Hewitt is a graphic designer and personal friend of Banash who recognized his immense talent and wanted to offer another platform to promote his works. After moving from Durango, Colo., to Scottsdale one year ago, Hewitt works with Banash at Blues, Desert & Soul to bring forth art, merchandise and goods that inspire people.
The art boutique features a collection of an estimated 3,000 different illustrated designs as well as giclée reprints of Banash’s original charcoal and acrylic musician paintings. Each illustrated piece is hand-drawn and then computer-illustrated into a variety of works. Explore paintings of famous musicians and regional interests, including scenes of the desert, the Four Corners and Route 66, and recreational interests, such as golf, biking, road-tripping, fishing, skiing, river rafting and more.
All artwork comes in loose print on Canson Watercolor paper and Fredrix Crystal Matte canvas and is printed locally by a well-recognized art printer. Blues, Desert & Soul offers customization of all illustrated artworks, giving clientele numerous content, size and medium options. In addition to the wide collection of illustrated works, Blues, Desert & Soul in Scottsdale will be the first and only venue to offer original paintings by Banash, which will be for sale at the boutique soon.
Customers can also purchase merchandise and small goods at Blues, Desert & Soul. Hewitt works with Banash’s art and adapts it into a variety of merchandise, which includes t-shirts, hoodies, lux pool towels, pool totes, custom-printed denim jackets, stickers, magnets, patches, bottle openers, glassware, notebooks and more. The boutique will also offer goods by regional artists, including leather goods and wellness products.
