The 9th annual Design for Dogs event returns to Scottsdale February 24 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. to raise funds for Arizona Animal Welfare League, the state’s oldest and largest no-kill shelter. The family-friendly event is committed to helping homeless animals find fur-ever homes.
In partnership with Facings of America, 16 design + build teams loaded with professional architects, interior designers and home builders will craft custom dog houses featuring their clever design skills to auction at the showcase. The inspiration behind the dog houses ranges from modern houses, condos and lofts to campers, barns and spas.
A panel of distinguished Valley judges, including Feras Irikat of Lunada Bay Tile, will choose the best dog house of the competition, granting the winning team the title of “Best in Show.” One lucky silent auction winner will bring home one of the custom dog houses for their own furry friend.
Taking place at Facing of America’s Scottsdale showroom, the night will include a variety of food, cocktails, music, adoptable dogs and raffle prizes. Learning opportunities about how to adopt an animal and be an advocate for abandoned animals will be offered to all participants to take part in.
The AAWL rehabilitates and re-homes over 4,000 abandoned dogs and cats every year. A majority of the animals at AAWL arrive at the facility from rural shelters across Arizona that were unable to offer them the right resources. All proceeds raised at the event will allow AAWL to continue to help save these animals by offering life-saving programs such as low-vaccine clinics, rural rescue efforts and a community vet clinic.
Tickets are $55 each or two for $100. For more information about the event and to purchase tickets, click here.
