Join Ballet Arizona for a night of magic under the stars this month to see exceptional performances from dancers of all ages and skill levels. Ballet Under the Stars allows Arizonans to gather and enjoy dance in an outdoor setting with a full stage, lighting and costumes.
This event is returning to the Valley this month from Sept. 23 to Sept. 30. It is free of charge and open to the public. It’s the perfect family outing, but make sure to bring chairs or blankets to sit and watch the performances. There will be food trucks and space for picnicking while watching the program.
“This beloved annual tradition helps us give back to the Arizona community with a unique outdoor experience, allowing friends and families to be immersed in the world of ballet,” says Ib Andersen, artistic director of Ballet Arizona.
With fully staged, live performances by professional company dancers, viewers will be able to enjoy classic and contemporary dances, like The Nutcracker and The Four Temperaments. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
There will be performances by local elementary school children in Ballet Arizona’s Class Act program, which is a three-week training course with Ballet Arizona. The students taking part in this year’s event come from Don Mesendick School, McDowell Mountain Elementary School, Estrella Mountain Elementary School and Alhambra Traditional School. See here for more information on which school will be at each performance.
Ballet Under the Stars will be hosted at four outdoor park locations across the Valley.
