It’s August 7, which means the hit new movie “Julie & Julia” is out in theatres! For those of you who love Julia Child or just love to eat, make a night of it with Christopher’s “Julie & Julia” Menu featuring the same dishes Chef Gross cooked on Julia Child’s TV show, and then of course head to the theatres to catch this highly-anticipated summertime flick!
Available from 5 to 10 p.m. for $40, Chef Christopher Gross will be serving a fabulous full-course meal that includes soup of leeks with summer truffles, alder-smoked loin of beef with red wine and shallot sauce, and a chocolate tower with fresh berries for dessert.
If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of experiencing the new Christopher’s Restaurant and Crush Lounge in Phoenix, you are in for a real treat… literally. The food is French-inspired and the ambiance is sexy chic with a sleek Kitchen Bar as the bistro’s nucleus. For more upscale dining head to the glassed back room, which is decked out in contemporary furnishings, orange and black accents, exposed ceilings and tall glass panels.
If you don’t care for a little summer heat, take your “Julie & Julia” menu outside onto Christopher’s amazing patio. It’s casual and comfortable! For the cream de la cream of dining, head to C-144, the ultimate “Chef’s Table,” which accommodates 10 guests comfortably for a seated dinner. Glass walls and a view of the open kitchen make this an intimate experience for business or pleasure. Come on another night and enjoy a tasting menu designed by Christopher with the option of wine pairings by Paola for each course.
Care for a drink? Sommelier Paola Embry brings her own special touch to Crush Lounge, which offers a separate, but just as inspiring ambience and fare complimented by an impressive wine list ranging affordably through most of the world varietals – a list that has earned the “Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator Magazine for nine consecutive years.
About “Julie & Julia”: Julie Powell, who is feeling very unsatisfied with her life, decides to cook all 524 dishes in Julia Child’s “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” book, to which she will write about. The film portrays both Julie and Julia and how in the end, their lives are truly similar. Plus, Julia Child is played by phenomenal actress Meryl Streep and Julie is played by funny girl Amy Adams.

What a cute event! I wish I hadn’t missed it.
What a cool, unique event.
I just went to Christopher’s for the first time last week! We had lobster salad, mushroom pizza and french fries. I’m still thinking about the food! This sounds like a great night out, might have to go again this week!
