Run, dance and party in the dark to help fight obesity at the Night Envy Neon Run on Friday, Nov. 1.
The 6 p.m. 5K run at WestWorld of Scottsdale will feature five color zones bedecked in black lights, energizing music, neon paint cannons and dozens of obstacles. After the race, participants are invited to dance the night away a ‘80s-themed after party.
The Night Envy Neon Run will benefit Shape Up US, a Scottsdale-based nonprofit that’s dedicated to fighting obesity by improving the health, fitness and overall wellbeing of youth and their families. When participants register online with promo code SHAPEUPUS, funds directly benefit Shape Up US’ Hip Hop Healthy Heart for Children, an innovative curriculum that helps teachers motivate students to live healthy, active and balanced lives.
“Childhood obesity has more than doubled in children and tripled in adolescents in the past 30 years,” said Executive Director Jyl Steinback of Shape Up US in a statement. “We must reverse this trend through awareness, education and action. The Night Envy Neon Run goes a long way in supporting our efforts, as it raises funds for Shape Up US while also giving people an opportunity to shape up themselves.”
A $30 ticket includes participation in the Run, a race T-shirt, bib number, swag bag, and entrance to the after-party.
