It’s almost fall, and that means the holidays are coming upon us way too quickly. It’s time to shop, shop, shop! What better way to shop than getting a discount at your favorite stores and giving money back to charity at the same time? This October you can do just that. This year marks the 15th Annual Board of Visitors Care Card shopping event. The mission? “Serving the healthcare needs of women, children and the elderly.”
With a one-time donation of $60 to purchase a Care Card, recipients receive 20% off of more than 600 of their favorite retailers and restaurants throughout the valley from October 17th-26th. This unique charitable fundraiser gives more than discounts to its users; it provides hope to many hopeless across the valley.
The net proceeds from this years’ Care Card and Care Card events throughout its two-week activation will benefit the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Over the past 15-years, The Board of Visitors has gifted more than $2 million dollars to various charities in the greater Phoenix.
The Board of Visitors is the most established charitable organization in Arizona. Since 1908, the BOV has donated a total of $18 million dollars to local charities to help improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in the local community.
Some of the many retailers that are participating in the Card Care activation include Fox Restaurant Concepts, J. Crew, Williams-Sonoma, COACH, Tory Burch, Gap/Gap Kids, lululemon athletica, Schmitt Jewelers, Bungalow, Crate and Barrel, Chico’s, Bottega Veneta, Massage Envy, Jimmy Choo, Leslie’s Pools, Pottery Barn, Eileen Fisher, and Hugo Boss. The excitement of the events won’t just be within the two weeks of shopping, but that excitement will also be blasting from various courtyards throughout Phoenix and Scottsdale during special “Sneak Peek” events. On Saturday, October 11, 2014, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. enjoy live entertainment and special in-store events at the following locations:
- Biltmore Fashion Park
Shoppers who present $500 or more in same-day receipts from Biltmore Fashion Park retailers and restaurants to Calypso will receive a complimentary gift.
- Kierland Commons
Shoppers who present $500 or more in same-day receipts from Kierland Commons retailers and restaurants to Lather will receive a complimentary gift.
- Scottsdale Fashion Square
Shoppers who present $500 or more in same-day receipts from Scottsdale Fashion Square retailers and restaurants to the concierge will receive a complimentary gift.
