Local architects, interior designers and home builders have once again teamed up to build luxury dog houses for homeless pups in the Valley during the 10th annual Design for Dogs event benefiting the Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) on Friday, February 23, 2024.
Hosted by Facings of America since 2015, the dog-centric architectural event will be held at the Facings of America Showroom and will feature a custom dog house design and build competition to help AAWL, Arizona’s oldest and largest no-kill shelter, continue to put a roof over more than 4,000 homeless pets’ heads each year.
Ten “All-Star” design teams that have previously participated in the luxury dog house competition will return for this year’s event to creatively design and build swanky pet palaces. Each team’s masterpiece will be showcased at the Design for Dogs event and auctioned off during the event’s silent auction. All proceeds will go towards funding AAWL’s life-saving programs, which include low-cost vaccine clinics, rural rescue efforts and a community vet clinic. The paw-fect dog house will earn the “Best in Show” title.
At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to browse the stylish dog houses displayed at the Facings of America Showroom and bid for their favorite one. Guests will also enjoy music, raffle prizes and adorable dogs up for adoption at AAWL. Additionally, ticket holders will receive a ticket redeemable for two drinks provided by local vendors.
The 10th annual Design for Dogs event takes place February 23 at the Facings of America Showroom in Scottsdale from 5 p.m.–9 p.m. General admission tickets are $55 per person. For tickets and more information about the event, click here.
