With a New Year comes the evolution of all things. Many people use the beginning of the New Year to create resolutions. Meanwhile, trends in everything from food to fashion started to evolve, with new and creative aspects taking over. This also rings true in the event, catering, and entertainment industries.
Anthony and Anna Barr, the couple behind AGA Hospitality – which operates two distinct and comprehensive events and entertainment companies, Above and Beyond Catering and Fork & Spoon Productions – offer insight into the 2025 trends that are taking shape for private parties, weddings, corporate events and beyond.
Blending in-person and virtual attendance experiences during corporate events
Today’s business meetings and corporate events aren’t what they used to be. Guests are no longer missing out simply because they live in another region or state.
“There is incredible inclusion when it comes to seamlessly melding in-person and virtual attendance,” Anna said. “This can be accomplished with high-quality streaming and interactive digital features that include everyone, whether in the room or across the country.”
Gettin’ techy with it
In 2025, technology will continue to play a significant role, especially in corporate events. “Consider immersive and personalized experiences such as augmented reality and virtual reality presentations, product launches, and training sessions,” Anna said.
She notes that AI-driven insights can help create customized attendee experiences, from personalized schedules and digital swag to curated networking opportunities. Technology is also fun to integrate into private events, according to the Barrs.
“It’s important to embrace our changing technology in a way that makes sense for you, your business, and your event while also considering the impact on your attendees and guests,” Anna said. “Think about using drones for stunning aerial photography, hologram performances to get the crowd engaged and personalized digital photo booths to take your event to the next level.”
Add a dash of health and wellness
In 2025, health and wellness continue to dominate and drive trends. Anna adds that demand for sustainable, low- or zero-waste events will continue to grow this year.
“Hosts should consider catering to those focused on health and wellness through wellness lounges, meditation breaks and healthy meal options,” she said. “Sustainability also continues to be a key trend in corporate events, private parties and catering.”
An experience for the senses – and location, location, location
Another trend gaining traction in 2025 is multi-sensory experiences.
“These events promise to engage guests through all their five senses,” Anna said. “From aromatic spaces and artfully curated food to soundscapes, events and entertainment companies are pushing the boundaries of how guests perceive the experience through their senses.”
According to the Barrs, venue choice is another area where event hosts can use their creativity.
“Think outside the boardroom and the ballroom,” Anna said. “There is increased interest in unconventional settings such as rooftops, historical landmarks, and art galleries. Popular niche themes for 2025 include Old Hollywood, futuristic vibes and nature-inspired events.”
When developing an event, choosing a unique location that aligns with the theme can create a fully immersive experience, helping guests feel as though they have truly transported to another place or period in time.
Globally inspired, locally sourced menus
Food and beverage is the “main course” for any event, so make it memorable. In 2025, clients are looking for fusion concepts that feature authentic globally inspired dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Specialty cocktails, mocktails and sparkling refreshments are also super popular.
Ultimately, an event should be tailored to the hosts, to their guests and to the memory they intend to create. This can be accomplished by combining trends and timeless experiences with hosts’ personal preferences.
“Every event can and should be personalized. It should be about you and what you share with your guests,” Anna said. “Our companies focus on presenting clientele with a fresh, elegant, fun and personalized approach to any trend, whether fleeting or timeless. This can be accomplished by blending personal and signature styles with trends for the ultimate guest experience.”
