Tempe Blooms, a floral-themed event in Downtown Tempe, returns for its second year on January 25-26, 2025. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, guests will watch as vendors from across the state showcase the beauty of desert botanicals through 21 large-scale floral displays scattered throughout the district. These stunning installations, designed by local florists, will be featured on buildings and historic landmarks, creating a vibrant atmosphere across downtown.
Attendees can also experience live mural painting, where 10 local artists will create murals inspired by desert landscapes and flowers. Each mural will be paired with live music, offering a unique, multi-sensory experience for all to enjoy.
“The response to Tempe Blooms has been incredible,” Lori Foster, President and CEO of Downtown Tempe Authority, said. “This event highlights the exceptional talent of local artists, whose creativity energizes the downtown district and elevates its beauty in a truly unique and engaging way.”
The Flowerful Market is another weekend highlight, with over 40 local vendors showcasing their handcrafted goods, floral-themed treasures, and desert-inspired products. The market also highlights artisans who incorporate botanicals into their work, allowing visitors to shop while celebrating the local arts scene.
Tempe Blooms also offers floral design seminars presented by Arizona Flower Market. These sessions, led by industry experts, will teach attendees everything from selecting the perfect blooms for events to creating tropical floral arrangements. This educational component provides a chance to explore the world of floral design and gain hands-on knowledge.
“Appreciating the beauty of floral design is one thing, but learning from some of the region’s leading floral experts is an empowering way to tap into your creativity,” Brennen Rigler, CEO of Arizona Flower Market, said. “We’re passionate about making flowers accessible and approachable, and we’re eager to welcome aspiring designers to a fun and informative weekend.”
The event extends to Downtown Tempe’s culinary scene, with participating restaurants offering floral-inspired food, cocktails, and merchandise. It’s an immersive experience for all ages, with dog-friendly spaces and plenty of opportunities to capture the beauty of the event.
Last year’s inaugural event drew more than 80,000 attendees; a similar crowd is expected this year. Admission is free, and the event is open to all. For more, visit downtowntempe.com.
