Fave #1: Textured Hair Styles
I love this item because: I don’t necessarily have thick hair, but I have a decent amount of it. When I get out of the shower I am lucky enough that my hair dries perfectly straight (little secret – I get Brazilian Blowouts from Casey at Eclipz Salon Studios in Chandler) so when I want to do something more to my look, textured styles is what I do! Lauren from Gossamer Salon in Scottsdale introduced me to textured styles a couple months ago. She taught me how to curl my hair using two different curling irons and switching off between a couple different curling techniques. The waves that she creates are unlike any curls I’ve ever had! From there, she creates multiple looks with the same curls as the base and uses texturizing styling products to add to the look. If you want something other than curls, try adding big bobby pins in a design either to pull pieces back or to pull your curls to one side. Other options would be to create a low messy bun at the nape of your neck or add in little braids or fishtail braids with your curls brushed out so that they appear more as waves then ringlets. Lastly, my favorite look of all right now is multiple braids. Lauren started with a 4D fishtail braid on one side and a 3D braid or a dutch braid on the other side. Then she combined the two with a regular braid at the bottom. You can dress these looks up by wrapping a piece of hair around the ends or keep them messy and tease them a little for a more casual look.

Fave #2: Boho Style
The current boho trend is so carefree, but also so chic. It is one of my favorite spring looks because you can get away with wearing a comfortable dress, but you don’t have to bare your legs if you don’t want to. If worn correctly, maxi dresses can be so flattering and so easy to wear and style. Make sure your maxi dress is the proper length for you. I have a hard time finding one that is long enough. If you want to wear it casually, make sure that you hem it to be able to wear flats or sandals with it. If you’re looking for a dressier style and want to wear heels or wedges, make sure it’s the proper height for your footwear. Also, you can get away with wearing lighter or darker makeup. In my photos, I opted for darker makeup, but often times I wear my makeup naturally with this trend if I’m running errands, going to work or having a casual brunch date with friends. Also, I’m a huge fan of stacking jewelry, which couldn’t be more perfect for the boho style. Chunky bangles, wrap bracelets, raw stones, mixed stones, mixed metals, long necklaces, etc. it all looks great! If you typically don’t wear that much jewelry and it feels slightly uncomfortable, you’re probably doing it right! At the end of the day, make sure that you are incorporating and interpreting the trend to match your own personal style. Check out Instagram and my blog for more inspiration if you’re wanting to test out this trend!

Fave #3: Microcurrent from Skinapeel Beauty
Microcurrent from Skinapeel Beauty is my secret weapon to looking younger than I am! My 2017 New Year’s resolution was to make my skincare a top priority. In my early 30’s I’ve contemplated getting Botox to remove the fine lines and wrinkles between my brows and on my forehead. Thankfully my good friend Kimberly, owner of Skinapeel Beauty, introduced me to Microcurrent and I’ve been able to not only soften my fine lines and wrinkles, but it has cleared up my skin and increased collagen too. Kimberly has helped me to create a routine with the right products for my skincare needs and monthly facials to improve overall skin care health.

Fave #4: Cross Training with Local Workout Studios
I grew up playing competitive sports, dancing, teaching swim lessons, etc. Growing up in Arizona, I’m used to having weather that allows me to be outside and active for most of the year. Naturally, I crave that feeling that comes after getting great exercise, being part of a team and also competing. Having a full-time job, commitments outside of work, and wanting to be with family and friends, it’s tricky to find the time to do the things outside that I grew up doing. Instead, I have found that same feeling from a variety of workouts at local fitness studios. BODI is a high intensity interval training workout that helps me to wake up in the morning and get my day going. It fulfills my competitive side and provides me with strength training and cardio. I’ve never felt stronger and healthier in my life than when I work out at BODI. It’s also very humbling. I definitely look up to the trainers and see that I have a long way to go to reach my goals, and they are helping me get there in a safe way.

Barre3 is another favorite of mine. It helps me to clear my mind, find balance and lengthen my muscles. It can still be a fast paced workout, but is low intensity compared to BODI. It fulfills the dancer side of me. Both workouts push me in different ways. Other activities that I love are spin and yoga. Seeing these small business owners provide a specialized skill to a group of people that have grown to depend on it is so cool to see. I love supporting these fitness studios as they have given me so much in return.

Fave #5: Lash Boost
I am obsessed with having long, thick eyelashes. Some people love bold eyebrows or a perfect manicure, my thing is eyelashes. I’ve tried eyelash extensions, but I tend to rub my eyes often, so having extensions really didn’t work for me. Plus, I didn’t want to be chained down to an appointment every three weeks for a fill. Lash Boost is like a moisturizer that you put on like eyeliner. Within four weeks I noticed a difference, after eight weeks other people started noticing a difference and now at 12 weeks I at least have one person a week compliment me on how long and thick my lashes are.

More about Katrina..
Katrina Fox has been meticulously styling outfits for herself, family and friends since before she could do long division. This sixth sense helped when landing a buying and store management internship in San Francisco with Macy’s and later kicking off her product development and merchandising career after college at Macy’s Merchandising Group in New York City. Her corporate retail and fashion experience grew as she transitioned back to the desert as a shoe buyer for Dillard’s. Switching gears, she expanded her marketing expertise in Brand Marketing and Sponsorship at GoDaddy, where her main responsibility was the Danica Patrick racing program. Continuing her course, she currently manages the public relations department for a small parcel logistics company named OnTrac and helps women feel their best everyday through The Foxy Kat (TFK) blog and styling. Katrina is passionate about connecting people within the community, content creation, and event management. For so long, she has artistically and systematically expressed herself through her wardrobe and beauty (makeup and hair styling) that conceptualizing a plan and seeing it through for another person to achieve the same feelings of contentment and confidence has become another great passion of hers.
