It truly is the most wonderful time of the year when the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess kicks off its annual “Christmas at the Princess” festival. From Nov. 27 to Jan. 6, be delighted and enchanted as this AAA Five Diamond resort transforms into a winter wonderland in the desert.
Starting at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 27, everyone is invited to take part in the 3rd Annual “Christmas at the Princess” Holiday Tree Lighting in Princess Plaza. Decorate the 65,000 LED lit tree to live musical performances, Santa Claus and carolers while enjoying sugar cookies and spiced cider on the Plaza while you decorate. Kids can create their very own spark ornament for $5 at the resort’s Holiday Shoppe “Sparkle” event. The Shoppe will also sell holiday cards designed by Phoenix Children’s Hospital patients, supporting their 26th Annual Card Project fund-raiser.
Following the tree lighting ceremony, professional skaters will designate the official opening of the Desert Ice Holiday Rink for the season. The 5,400-square-foot rink, made with real ice will be open daily to the public. The price per session is $15 for adults, $10 for children 12 and younger and $5 for skate rental. A portion of the skating proceeds will benefit the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
The tree lighting ceremony kicks off the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess’ toy drive for Toys for Tots. That evening, the Scottsdale Fire Department will be on-hand with a fire truck to accept unwrapped toys. The resort will then be a drop-off location for Toys for Tots through Dec. 20.
