Just in time for the hottest month of the year AZ Foothills is fired up to bring the annual Dog Days of Summer Contest to the Valley! If you think you have a cute canine come show off your furry friend as we search for the next “Top Dog” at one of our casting calls.
The “Dog of the Year 2014” will receive a professional dog photo shoot and pup profile in Arizona Foothills Magazine, hold the title of Arizona Foothills Magazine’s “Dog of the Year 2014”, receive $500 cash, and various other puppy prizes!
Casting Call Schedule
Saturday, July 12th 10am – 12pm: Scottsdale Quarter
Saturday, July 19th 10am – 12pm: Scottsdale Quarter
Saturday, July 26th 10am – 12pm: Outlets at Anthem
Dogs who enter the contest at one of the casting calls listed above will receive a professional headshot and an automatic bonus of 1,000 votes!
The 2014 contest will be divided into the following categories:
Large Dogs
There is more to love with a large dog! If Fido is too big to hold, enter him in this category to win AZFoothills.com’s “Large Dog of the Year.”
Small Dogs
If your pooch can fit in your handbag or is small enough to carry, enter him in this category to win AZFoothills.com’s “Small Dog of the Year.”
Best Dressed Dog
Does your pup have style? Show off his best outfit and enter him in this category to win AZFoothills.com’s “Best Dressed Dog.”
The 2014 contest will allow for one vote per computer, per day. Round one of the contest will consist of Web voting. The five pups with the most votes in each category at the end of the online voting period will move on to round two. A winner in each category will be then be chosen by a panel of doggie-loving judges, along with an overall winner – “Dog of the Year” – for a total of four winners.
The “Dog of the Year” winner will receive the aforementioned prizes, while the “Large Dog,” “Small Dog” and “Best Dressed Dog” winners will receive gift cards to restaurants. Official voting will begin August 4th.
If you can’t make it to one of our casting calls you may still submit your pup for the contest via online entry (note that online entrants will not begin the contest with 1,000 bonus votes).
To enter a dog for the Dog Days of Summer Contest, e-mail the information below to dogdays@azfoothills.com by July 30, 2014. All submissions must include:
• Dog’s name, age and hometown
• Owner’s full name, e-mail address, and phone number
•An adorable photo of the dog!
