Ok, it may not exactly be the hap-hap-happiest time of the year but Tempe Marketplace and Desert Ridge Marketplace are helping make spirits bright starting tonight. The popular shopping destinations are giving locals an excuse to get out of the house while maintaining proper #socialdistancing from the safety of their own cars by re-hanging holiday lights throughout their locations. The holiday light extravaganza will make its debut Friday, March 20.
The shopping centers are the first Valley businesses to jump aboard the happiness-inducing the social media trend while the world combats COVID-19. Why holiday lights? While Christmas is still nine months away, the Vestar-owned shopping centers wanted to show that there is still light and hope in the face of the global health crisis. Lights just make people happy… and happy people get through quarantine.
