With summer in full swing there’s no better time to escape the heat of the city. Head to the high country of Arizona and have a good old-fashioned picnic. From checkered vintage blankets, to wicker baskets and antique silver wear, The Stylish Table will show you how to pack up a picnic in style.
Spread out a checkered picnic blanket in either classic blue or red under a tree to create an instant picnic area. Pack a vintage wicker picnic basket full of tasty treats. Creating a cheese board including, a variety of cheeses, crackers, baguette, nuts and fruit is simple and offers a tasty snack that you and your guest(s) can graze on at your leisure.
Use wooden cheese boards and pretty platters for serving. Simple white plastic plates will do for eating and will create a vintage country feel. Enjoy some wine in a meadow or grassy park watching the sunset. Be sure to have some non-alcoholic drinks ready as well. Flavored fruit waters or a simple Pellegrino can be a refreshing treat on a hot summer day. Serve in plastic wine glasses that look real and add to the ambience.
How about picking up some strawberry lemonade cupcakes and garnishing with sugared berries or a fruit tart from your local bakery. Using vintage silver wear from an antique store is a sure way to add a little nostalgia to your picnic.
Don’t forget your favorite book or magazine (like Arizona Foothills Magazine)! What could be more fitting than to take a nap on a long hot summer day?
