A life-sized Barbie Dreamhouse and Hot Wheels race track are just two of the many childhood dreams about to come true at the first-ever Mattel-based theme park, which is now officially opening in Glendale, Ariz. next year.
Currently under construction at the new VAI Resort opening in 2024, Mattel Adventure Park will highlight Mattel’s iconic portfolio of popular toy brands, which includes Hot Wheels, Thomas & Friends, Barbie, Fisher-Price, UNO and Monster High.
Guests will get to see all of their favorite toys brought to life with fun amusement rides and experiences built and designed by some of the world’s top talents in attractions and design.
The park is also designed to be Arizona’s first fully-themed indoor/outdoor amusement park, with the majority of the attractions located inside air-conditioned spaces to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience in the desert all-year round.
Mattel Adventure Park will feature nine acres of family-friendly attractions, including the Thomas & Friends World of Sodor, a multi-story Barbie Beach House with a Barbie Dream Closet Experience featuring hologram technology and a rooftop bar and restaurant, an entertainment theater adventure, adrenaline-boosting coasters and more.
Interactive media productions include the park’s Thomas Adventure Train: Treasure Hunt, which will allow families to talk to Thomas and his friends before embarking on a journey aboard a real-life electric Thomas the Tank Engine. The Hot Wheels Unleashed 4D Ride will take guests on a thrilling 4D motion experience behind the wheel of a custom-designed Hot Wheels car.
Hot Wheels fans can also experience lightning speed on the multi-level Hotel Wheels go-kart track or on the park’s two Hot Wheels roller coasters, which will include the double-looping Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer and the Hot Wheels Boneshaker: The Ultimate Ride, climbing 84 feet in the air.
The park will also bring visitors a Masters of the Universe laser tag arena designed after Castle Grayskull, a nine-hole mini golf experience and an oversized UNO card climbing structure.Mattel Adventure Park will officially open its doors in 2024 and is expected to be open 365 days a year.
